Kevin Feige On The Relationship Between Marvel’s TV Series And Their Films

In a recent interview at the Avengers: Age of Ultron press junket, Kevin Feige told the relationship Marvel's TV Series (Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil, etc.), has with the films they produce on the big screen! He also tells how Agents of SHIELD is "blazing new ground."

I'm sure many of you after watching an episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Netflix's Daredevil, you most likely asked yourself what did that episode have to do with the heroes we see on the big screen? Now, as you watched Daredevil, it focused on him and his characters. Even though it had some minor Easter eggs and references, it had very little to do with any film we've seen on the big screen thus far. On the other hand, when you tune in to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. they have characters that appear (Sif), and things that happen (The Inhuman outbreak), that always have you asking: What does this mean for 'this' or for 'that'? Kevin Feige in a recent interview with BadAss Digest revealed how the "television" team works with him and his team who deals with the movies. "There have been discussions between myself and Eric Buckley and Dan Carroll, who is the conduit between Jeph Loeb and the runners, in terms of them saying, ‘We’re thinking of doing this, this and this - does that gibe with what you’re doing in the movies?’ And in some cases, like with the Avengers movies, it’s very close. We have to say, ‘This is happening, so you have to do this.’"

Very true, because you can have the Earth get blown to shreds on an episode of Agents of Shield and expect it not to tie-in with the films. That concept would just be...weird! Speaking of Marvel's Agents of Shield, they've introduce the Inhumans a little while back, and these new powers have added much more complex story-lines to the series. Kevin Feige believes that the addition of the Inhumans allows AOS to break new grounds. "In the case of The Inhumans, they’re blazing new ground. As we get down the road towards that one, we’ll see what the pieces are." He then tells that you will have to tune in to Agents of Shield, because it sets up for the Inhumans film, just as the comics. "Certainly, in terms of those backstories on some of those things. Knowing the comics, you can guess the kind of things you wouldn’t see on a TV show."

The newest TV Series that Marvel will create are the rest of the Netflix's series. These include Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and eventually The Defenders! As of now, Marvel could take that team and add them into the Infinity War films! Or they could decide to never do anything with them outside of Netflix. Whatever Marvel has planned I'm sure it's all important. You know what they say..."It's all connected." Sound off below!
