Daredevil season one showrunner Steven S. DeKnight recently revealed that he'd purchased the Man Without Fear's costume, and when one fan took aim at that suit, he had a very harsh response for them...

It's become commonplace for comic book movies and TV shows to take liberties with certain costumes, and that was the case with Daredevil during its first season. In the finale, the Man Without Fear donned a suit which did pay homage to the source material, but still wasn't exactly like seeing the hero step straight out of the pages of the comic books.

Recently, season one showrunner Steven S. DeKnight took to social media to reveal that he had purchased Daredevil's season one costume now that's props from all the Marvel TV shows are being sold in online auctions. However, one troll responded to that by saying that the suit "belongs in a dumpster fire or a Joel Schumacher film" and accompanied that with a picture of Daredevil's classic comic book costume by Frank Miller.

DeKnight was having none of it, though, and as you can see in the Tweet below, he had two very simple words for this so-called fan!

It's worth noting that this costume did receive some backlash from fans when it was first revealed at the end of Daredevil season one. The use of black on the traditionally red costume confused many people and the lack of the classic "DD" logo was definitely disappointing. You can't blame DeKnight for standing up for it, though, and the Tweet sent by that fan was totally uncalled for.

The suit looks great compared to other Marvel TV costumes (Inhumans, Deathlok, Cloak&Dagger). The Affleck suit was better though

@Saga - The Affleck suit was better though . . . for BDSM.

@Saga - what costumes do Cloak & Dagger wear? They're usually in their street clothes aren't they? I think Ty might have the heritage cloak, but I'm not sure that counts as a costume.

@OptimusGrime - All that kind of stuff comes from a generation that was never properly told "no" growing up and is perpetuated by anonymity of the interweb. No one has any respect anymore. I still reserve my right to complain but calling someone out directly on their hard work is classless

@inkniron - I respect the approach they did in S1 with the suit ...and I mean COME ON the guy is BLIND for christs sake I don't think he was going to worry about the appearance of the suit all that much lol.

I thought the suit was a bit off at the end of S1 but evolved into something really cool in S2 and 3. It really suited the tone of the TV show and fit Charlie Cox like a glove. Was really lookin forward to seeing it continue to evolve ....SOBs have cancelled the show !! bummer !

@RageDriver2401 - Last thing I saw him in was Love, Simon and he was pretty great there... also, it's a superhero streaming show - if it does close to as well as The Boys it'll be fine

I thought the suit looked really goofy at the end of season 1, but when he gets those re-adjustments in season 2 it looked a lot better. Or maybe they just shot it better?

LMAO.

Not surprised at an online fanboy using hyperbole. I never thought the suit was fantastic or anything. It needed an overall redesign and way more red. But it was a fine suit nonetheless.

Besides I didn't care about that because Charlie Cox was too damn good in the role anyway. He's among the actors whose voice I read the respective character in comics, alongside Evans' Cap, RDJ's Iron Man, and Simmons' J. Jonah Jameson.
