@ComicsBornAndBred - 8 episodes isn't enough. They have to explain:

-Matt respresenting Luke and proving his innocence.

-Jessica Jones suddenly wanting to join a team.

-Why the 4 of them must unite.

And so on. 13 episodes would be ideal. 1 episode for each hero establishing their arc with one another. And then 9 episodes building the villain, conflict, resolution, and paving the way for the next seasons.

@SimplyAz - Yeah but I think we have it backwards. Keep in mind that this is the first promo offering actual credits. It's entirely possible that Hogarth, Foggy, and Malcolm are the real Defenders and all the superheroes are the supporting players.
