Loki's mid-credits scene added some big names to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and one of them has now taken to Twitter to share a closer look at their character. Check out the behind the scenes photo...

We first learned that DeObia Oparei would appear in Loki when the teaser trailer for the series showed the actor playing someone who appeared to be an alternate version of Thor.

Well, thanks to yesterday's mind-blowing episode, "The Nexus Event," we now know that Oparei is, in fact, playing a character who has been dubbed "Boastful Loki." As of right now, we don't know what that really means or why this particular God of Mischief is wielding a hammer that looks like it could be Mjolnir!

Answers are likely heading our way next Wednesday, but Oparei took to Twitter yesterday to share an awesome behind the scenes image of his Loki suited up on the set of the Disney+ series. While it was hard to tell in that mind-blowing mid-credits scene, he's clearly decked out in Loki's colours and looks like a far more formidable version of the trickster than we're used to seeing.

The actor actually had quite a few big credits to his name before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Game of Thrones, Jumanji: The Next Level, and Sex Education (a series Loki director Kate Herron has helmed multiple episodes of). He'll next be seen in Joe and Anthony Russo's The Gray Man.

If that is in fact Mjolnir I was hoping they’d go with “Worthy Loki”. Do we have an official name for Richard E. Grant’s Loki?

@OmegaBlack13 - it might not have an enchantment.

@thewanderer - Don't you like this Loki? Don't you like his beard? Don't you like his bald head? What makes you uncomfortable?

@thewanderer - Dude, your bigoted hatred is unwanted and unneeded.

Plaid is perfectly fine to wear, even for a Loki.

@thewanderer - man what a pathetic monosyllabic puddle of a person you are. I’m honestly surprised you didn’t choke on your own tongue while reading this....

@MrMediocre - woah settle down everyone. I was disagreeing with the hammer being Mjolnir, not anything to do with the actor portraying Loki.

Just because the character is holding a hammer doesn’t make the hammer Mjolnir as the article suggests.

I’ve got absolutely no problem with the different version of Loki.

(My own fault for not making that clear in the original post.)

@thewanderer - My guess is that's some other hammer he made the dwarves to create for him on his timeline, probably cause he was envious of Thor's.

His costume has some details that looks a lot like King Loki.

@ImNotaBot - I love this look with the whole fur and straps. I wish MCU's Loki and Asgard in general had more of this barbaric style.

@Fares - I like it too, but I prefer the classic Kirby Sci-fi asgard for the films.

Would be strange for such an advanced civilization to still use fur and wood imo.

1. This is quickly becoming one of the coolest things Marvel's ever done

2. This actually lays perfect groundwork for some of the stuff that will be happening in Spider Man NWH.

@OmegaDaGrodd -
I hope Maguire's Spider-Man is the original Spider-Man and Gardfield and Holland are the variants. The best Spider-Man must be the original. Any objection?

@Repian - I think based on the rules set out by Loki, MCU Peter can't be the Variant

Wild guess: he is from some timeline where Thor perished and Loki had to stp up to fill his place.

The reason why Peter has no recollection of his parents is because he was kidnapped by the TVA as a child and moved to another timeline.

I still want to know what the f#ck little Sylvie did to create a Nexus event while playing with a toy ship. Did they grab her because of what Loki did? I don't understand. Inquiring minds want to know!
