Marvel's LUKE CAGE Wins A Creative Arts Emmy Award For Outstanding Stunt Coordination

You can now designate Marvel's Luke Cage as an Emmy-awarding winning television show as the drama took home a Creative Arts Emmy this weekend. However, it's not the first Marvel TV show to do so.

The  Creative Arts Emmys ceremony were held this past Saturday and Sunday in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.  The Creative Arts Emmys celebrate technical achievements and serve as a precursor for the Primetime Emmys which will be held on September 17.

Nominated for
Outstanding Stunt Coordination For A Drama Series, Limited Series Or Movie, Marvel's Luke Cage prevailed over The Blacklist, Blindspot, Gotham and CBS' MacGyver reboot.  Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was nominated for Outstanding Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series but lost to Better Call Saul's Los Pollos Hermanos Employee Training video.  Luke Cage's win marks the second Primetime Emmy win for Marvel Television after Jessica Jones won the Outstanding Main Title Theme Music category in 2016.

Marvel's Rocket and Groot was also nominated for
Outstanding Short Form Animated Program but lost to the Adventure Time short, Islands Part 4: Imaginary Resources.
