Hot on the heels of Marvel
moving the release of the highly anticipated
Avengers: Infinity War up a week, a Marvel executive is now hinting at another big announcement coming tomorrow. Shortly after Marvel announced
Infinity War's new April 27th release date, Ryan Penagos, Marvel's VP & Creative Executive of New Media, tweeting something intriguing.
The tweet, seen below, contained a gif of Tommy Lee Jones' character in
Men In Black saying, "Imagine what you'll know tomorrow." As you can imagine, this has sent Marvel fans into a frenzy, speculating what sort of news Marvel could announce tomorrow.
There's quite a few theories floating around. The most obvious, of course, is
Avengers: Infinity War related. Penagos' tweet came just 10 minutes after today's big
Infinity War announcement, so some figure the timing of his tweet means it could be related to the film's marketing campaign. Given that we're now less than two months away from the highly anticipated movie, it's very possible we could be getting a new trailer. We've only had one official teaser trailer and a brief 30-second Super Bowl TV spot thus far. What better way to follow-up today's exciting news than with a brand new trailer? It's also possible that he could be teasing some other sort of announcement, like when tickets for
Infinity War will go on sale.
And then we have some bolder predictions, like the possibility of Marvel announcing a
Fantastic Four movie. It's a wild theory, but that's what you get when fans overanalyze the wording of a tweet. Marvel's use of the word "FANTASTIC" particularly caught some fans' eyes, leading them to speculate that the
Fantastic Four could be introduced to the MCU tomorrow. Currently, the film rights to
Fantastic Four belong to Fox, but as we're all well aware, Disney is in the process of bringing them (and the
X-Men) home to Marvel. Unfortunately, the deal between Disney and Fox is undergoing regulatory approval, so unless this is some sort of joint venture like we saw with Sony and
Spider-Man: Homecoming, then it's unlikely to happen.
These are the two most obvious predictions, but with
so much in the pipeline, tomorrow's announcement could literally be anything. Let the speculation begin.
