Since Marvel withdrew the series from Freeform earlier this year, people have wondered where New Warriors, with guesses ranging from it joining Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and other prospective superhero comedies like The Greatest American Hero, to joining the young-adult skewed show of Runaways on streaming service of Hulu (produced by ABC Signature Studios, who is also producing New Warriors). In addition, reports from The Hollywood Reporter have added that Marvel is looking for a two-season order for the new show, and that they wish for production and filming to resume as soon as January for a 2018 release. On top of all that, it's speculated that New Warriors will be the next big Marvel Television flagship for its own connected sub-universe in the MCU, similar to the Defenders and The Punisher shows on the streaming service Netflix. From all accounts, Marvel has very ambitious plans for New Warriors and its future in Marvel Television
Well, it seems that news ought to be coming soon about the prospective future of the show. A few weeks, back, New Warriors showrunner Kevin Biegel tweeted this:
Now, obviously this tweet on its own is, seemingly, of no consequence news-wise, at least beyond the fact that Biegel seems to really enjoy working on the show. However, apparently just seconds before this tweet Biegel had posted a slightly altered version, deleted quickly but had one key difference: the original ending had been #tweetedfromabarasIwriteseason2.
Now this could mean multiple things. Firstly, there's no screenshots of the original version, nor was it up long enough to be picked up by any Twitter or internet archive (which can occasionally store tweets that had been previously deleted), so the only recorded reports of the supposed original version come from a few posts on Reddit, shortly after the newer one was posted (posts made on different subsections of reddit by different users around the same time). However, if it is accurate, this would indicate that the show either has already been picked up and not been announced, or that Biegel has been informed of such and has begun some early work on the show's future as the i's are dotted and the t's crossed with whoever decided to take on Squirrel Girl and pals up on their foray into half-hour comedy formatting. And if the show is set to resume filming in January, we will likely see an official announcment by the end of this month.
