Wait, so this doesn't pick up after Stark flew the nuke through the portal in Avengers? That would've been beeter, because right now it really feels like "what if character x was character y instead?"

Anyway, wonder what Civil War looks like without Stark.

@bkmeijer - yeah. That would've been a great way to handle it. This really isn't the what if from the comics but is more along the lines of elseworlds from DC. Which is fine, but not really what's advertised.

As for civil war without stark, I think that could be interesting since banner would be there instead. Imagine what the accords would do to address the hulk. It'd probably be less heroes vs heroes and more heroes vs the government.

@Origame - now that I think about, Zemo's whole plot might not even work with Stark present. So yeah, it probably would've been just heroes vs. the government

@bkmeijer - Did Bruce even decide to blast himself into outer space? Wasn't it an accident? And Stark wasn't even there, it wasn't a big decision, why the hell would he do it?

I actually really dig this premise. Sakaar is like heaven for an inventor like Stark. He made an Iron Man suit out of metal scrap. Imagine the shit he could build in Sakaar. Here's hoping we get some more Stark engineering scenes.

I see all these "news sites" just regurgitate the same info without any thought as they all speculate that this set would be based on the premise of "what would have happened had the Armored Avenger decided to blast himself into outer space instead of Bruce Banner"
well if Stark had gone INSTEAD of Banner there wouldnt be any need for a "hulkbuster" armor on Sakaar as there wouldnt be a Hulk on Sakaar.
it should be something like what if stark ended up on sakaar instead of Thor
