If you ever watched Avengers: Age of Ultron and wondered, "What If...Ultron Won?" then tomorrow's episode of What If...? has you covered. After last week's big cliffhanger, we'll be visiting a reality where the villainous android managed to defeat Earth's Mightiest Heroes and likely conquer the entire planet.
Based on what we see in the promo below, it looks like this Ultron managed to upload his consciousness into The Vision's body. With that, he had access to the Mind Stone, and from there, seemingly collected all six Infinity Stones and became one of the universe's most powerful, formidable beings.
It looks like Hawkeye and Black Widow managed to survive, but Earth...well, we're thinking Sokovia may have ended up wiping out most sentient life just as Ultron planned when he dropped it from the sky.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, What If...? Head Writer A.C. Bradley said that while things have got dark at times in this first season, that delayed 10th episode (which is now set to be part of season 2) would have lightened things up. "Our 10th episode was a more light, upbeat Tony Stark episode," she teases. "I noticed on Twitter we're getting a lot of crap for killing Tony a lot. He has become the Kenny of the What If…? universe by accident."
Something tells us that we'll next see poor Iron Man meet his maker at the hands of this enhanced Ultron!
