Deadline is reporting that Academy Award-winner Billy Bob Thornton (Monster's BallFargo), Academy Award-nominee Alfre Woodard (Luke CageCaptain America: Civil War), and Regé-Jean Page (BridgertonDungeons & Dragons) have rounded out the cast of Netflix's upcoming action thriller The Gray Man, which will see Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame masterminds Joe and Anthony Russo in the director's chairs.

They join an all-star cast headlined by 2x Academy Award-nominee Ryan Gosling (Drive; The Nice Guys) as the titular former CIA operative-turned-freelance assassin. Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger; Avengers: Endgame) and Golden Globe-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives OutNo Time to Die) feature in the two other leading roles, with a supporting cast that includes Marvel alum Jessica Henwick (The Matrix 4Iron Fist), Wagner Moura (NarcosSergio), Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in HollywoodAmerican Housewife), and South Indian superstar Dhanush (RaanjhanaaVada Chennai).

In addition to directing and serving as producers, the Russo Brothers also penned the screenplay, which underwent a recent touch-up from frequent collaborators Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The film is based on the first installment in Mark Greaney's acclaimed thriller series, which follows the Gray Man (Gosling) as he is hunted across the globe by a former colleague named Lloyd Hansen (Evans), who is hellbent on putting the rogue assassin down before he interferes in something that could have serious global ramifications.

The Gray Man has also been confirmed to boast an estimated $200 million production budget, which will easily make it the most expensive film Netflix has ever produced. Filming is set to begin in two weeks in Los Angeles, likely with a 2022 premiere date in mind.

Please God, let the script be good.

Also I hope there are good producers to guide them.

@CyberNigerian - The Russos are at home with material like this. Action, espionage thrillers. And they've got Markus and McFeely o the script.

This movie should be a hit with those ingredients.

They blew that monstrous budget on the stellar cast.

Has anyone here seen Cherry?

I keep seeing conflicting reactions, seems like a love/hate film.

@Cbmfilmjunkie - I've seen it and liked it a lot. Some script issues, but the Russos' direction and Holland's performance are both top-notch.

Russos going back to what they do best with the espionage thriller. And Markus and McFeely polished the script, thankfully. I expect good things.

I've been listening to the book on Audibles, almost at the end. I've found it to be okay but think it can definitely be a very tense action movie.

Out of all of the actors, I'm looking forward to seeing what Chris Evans does as Lloyd Hansen, could be a really great role for him

Is this another AGBO production? The casts are consistently great throughout those productions, just like this cast is great
