Netflix's The Witcher: Blood Origin has found its series lead.

According to EW, British model/actress Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen and Slim, True Blood, Nightflyers) has been cast in the role of warrior turned travelling musician, Éile.

The character is described as "an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess, has left her clan and position as Queen's guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician. A grand reckoning on the continent forces her to return to the way of the blade in her quest for vengeance and redemption."

Though Éile's race is not mentioned here, previous character breakdowns have indicated that she will be an elf. The show is also said to be searching for an actor to play the male lead Fjall, a "physically strong, raw, gritty and visceral" elf from a rival clan.

Rumors have indicated that another character named Princess Merwyn will be a key part of the show, but that's yet to be confirmed.

Plot details are still mostly under wraps, but we do know that Blood Origin will be set 1200 years before the events of the original show, and focus on the origin of the very first Witcher and the events that lead to the pivotal "conjunction of the spheres."

Declan de Barra will serve as showrunner and will also executive produce along with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. The Witcher novelist Andrzej Sapkowski is on board as creative consultant.

The Witcher: Blood Origin is set to commence production in The UK later this year.
