The highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series has assembled an impressive supporting cast to join Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi Master, and while we still don't know the first thing about most of their roles, one actor has now shared a very interesting piece of information about his character.

While chatting to Screen Rant about his F9 return, Sung Kang was asked about joining the galaxy far, far away for the upcoming show. Kang revealed that he's been a Star Wars fan since he was a kid, and is very excited for the opportunity to play with a real lightsaber this time.

"My friends and I would play pretend, we would make our own lightsabers out of toilet paper centers and stuff like that and paper towel cardboard, and to be able to be on set and see Darth Vader and see the Star Wars Universe in front of me, I mean -- just as a fan to be able to be part of that history is pretty amazing."

"I kept pinching myself to go, 'How did I end up here?", he added. "And, my character has a lightsaber, to go, 'What? This is.. It's not a toy. It's actually the real thing, right?' so pretty cool."

This is obviously a pretty significant reveal, as it would appear to confirm that Kang will be playing a force-sensitive character, and backs-up a recent rumor that he'll actually be portraying the Jedi-hunting Fifth Brother.

Specific plot details are under wraps, but we do know that Obi-Wan will be set between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope. There are also rumors that younger versions of both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will appear, but that's yet to be confirmed.

Kang and McGregor will be joined by Moses Ingram, Indira Varma, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Hayden Christensen is also set to return as Darth Vader (you can check out some concept art of his costume here).

The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow is set to helm all episodes of the series, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on board as producer along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).
