They honestly should bring Boba back and have Temura Morrison voice him.

@Nightwing1015 -
I don't think it is Boba Fett. It's most likely Cobb Vanth, the man who stole Boba Fett's armour from the Sarlacc and started impersonating Boba Fett in the Star Wars: Aftermath novels.

You say older like he’s some weather Clint Eastwood type, but it’s only been 5 years since the events of ROTJ.

An honorable Mandalorian would not hunt down Mando after what happened in Chapter 3, although we know that Boba has no honor. In addition, he has worked for the empire in the past. It is logical to think that they have come back to Fett.

@Repian - Fett is no Mandalorian. He just wears the armor. He's a pretender. I would love to see him come back...only to be killed for good.

@Vegetaray123 - True, but Mando respects and adheres to the religion. The Fetts just appropriated the Mandalorian culture

True, but Mando respects and adheres to the religion.

Mando said the Mandalorians took him in and raised him as one of their own in the previous episode. His flashbacks show him as a child in a village of red-robe wearing people who are under attack. They didn't look like warriors and they were being slaughtered.

While he may not have been born a Mandalorian he was certainly raised as one. That would mean he's a Mandalorian and Boba Fett isn't based on his expanded origin in the Clone Wars:

In The Clone Wars, Almec, the Prime Minister of Mandalore, asserts that Jango was merely a regular bounty hunter who acquired a suit of Mandalorian armor. This would suggest that neither Jango nor his son were true Mandalorians.

Mando's backstory makes it seem like he was adopted. Probably in the same fashion that he's doing with baby Yoda. I believe it's quite common for this to happen.

@Humperdink - I thought we all knew this already. Its seemed pretty clear to me that this is the whole reason why Mando broke the Bounty Hunting code to save Baby Yoda.

He's sees himself in the kid. He's a foundling that got taken in.

@Vegetaray123 - How do you figure that? We all know he was a foundling. But being a Mandalorian doesn't mean you have to be born on Mandalore, or even born into the Mandalorian guild.

He was a foundling that got taken in. They showed this in Flashbacks. It's the whole reason he had a soft spot for Baby Yoda.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - It would do you some good to learn a little about Mandalorian culture, history, customs and politics as they've been told in the Eu for decades.

Fett was literally Mand'alor, the leader of the entire planet, chosen by the late leader Fenn Shysa (who he killed out of mercy after Shysa chose him as his successor). Fett led Mandalore for a decade during the Vong wars. Was he rejected at first for being a clone? Absolutely. But he earned his place and was recognized as a Mando and a leader by all the clans. That's how it works in a clannish society.

And please, don't serve me some "Yeah but this is Legends" BS. Everything we know about Mandalorian culture stems from the expanded universe. Fett is absolutely Mandalorian. He's the son of the chieftain of one of the most powerful clans, and he was selected as Lord Mandalore and ruled the planet.

It would be fitting to have Fett Return. Seeing as Baby Yoda is extreme Force Sensative and Boba has not had good encounters with Jedi. Maybe a redemption arc for him.

I can imagine a damaged Boba Fett, perhaps without an arm after the encounter with the Sarlacc, whom the empire has helped. Now he has a debt and a mission.

In the novel Boba Fett escaped the Sarlaac pit so he's pretty much alive

When you think about it the Fetts are just assholes exploiting Mandalorians through “Stolen Valor” by using their armor.
SethBullock

The whole point of creating the mandalorians was that people loved Bobba Fett and he was supposedly dead, Lucas created Jango for the prequels to have a Bobba Fett in the past, but having a whole bunch of people that looked like Fett was just an excuse to have more characters that looked like him, and I'm just not a fan of that, I'd rather just have Bobba Fett as a bounty hunter that looked cool not because he was a mandalorian or because he stole a mandalorian armor but because that's just the way he looked, then they could have just "resurrected" him explaining that he escaped alive from the monster's belly or whatever if they really wanted to make a new movie or tv show.

I have the same problem with jedis, Luke and Kenobi looked like that in Episode IV because they lived in Tatooine, other people living there wore similar clothes and they were not jedis, it was just the kind of clothes people used in dessertic planets, once Luke became a jedi in ROTJ he used different clothes, however when people thought about jedis they remembered Obi Wan Kenobi with the hooded robe and the clothes he was wearing on the OT, so just because of that the jedis in the prequels also had to wear hooded robes and they just had to look like Obi Wan or Yoda when in the OT they looked like that because they were hiding and not because that's what jedis should look like.

This is a huge problem with Star Wars, everything is being constantly recycled, this happened with Lucas and it's being even much more obvious with Disney, they are just too afraid to try to do something new and only want to play it safe, this show is just Bobba Fett 2.0's adventures with Baby Yoda (another recycled character), maybe it's good (I've only seen the pilot), but I just can't get over the lack of originality, even the settings are just more dessert/ice planets, I understand that's what people are used to on Star Wars and it's cheaper to film in a place that looks like a dessert or to make it look like an icy place, but I just would like to see something new for a change.

Disney released a trilogy of novels to fill in the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens called Star Wars: Aftermath.

In it, it's basically revealed that Boba Fett's armour was vomited up by the Sarlacc and a guy named Cobb Vanth stole it and started impersonating him on Tattooine.

So far, Disney has dropped zero hints that Boba Fett survived and the Mandalorian basically is Boba Fett 3.0. It's probably going to end up being Cobb Vanth, only they'll play it up as Boba Fett at first.

The only reason people think it's actually Fett is because they aren't aware of the other shit that Disney released.
