Today's episode of The Mandalorian was one of the biggest yet, and it featured the live-action debut of an iconic, fan-favourite character. You can check out a hi-res first look at them after the jump...

Well, that was quite something eh?

As expected, today's episode of The Mandalorian featured the live-action debut of Ahsoka Tano. Played by Rosario Dawson, it's fair to say that her take on the fan-favourite former Jedi is one that definitely lived up to expectations and does the iconic animated version justice.

We'll have more for you later on her role in the Disney+ TV series, but thought you might enjoy checking out some hi-res shots of the hero in action in the meantime!

As you can see, Ahsoka looks like she's stepped straight out of shows like The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, and it would honestly be a crime for Lucasfilm not to show us more of Dawson's version of the character in live-action. There's definitely the potential for that to happen given the way the episode ends, but it feels like her time in The Mandalorian is probably at an end (for now, at least).

Of course, given Ahsoka's ties to Bo-Katan Kryze, it's entirely possible that we'll one day see those two reunited, especially if it means retaking Mandalore from Moff Gideon's Imperial forces.

Check out this first look at Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian below:

@Lilvic92 - I really hope it's Luke, but there's also a possibility that they could use this to introduce Ezra.

@Lilvic92 - Or Ezra...but I'm personally hoping its Cal

@TheAstoundingMan - yeah I thought about that possibility as well but I have a feeling that they're saving him for Ahsoka's spinoff since she's obviously still looking for him with the Thrawn reference. You could be right, but I really hope its Luke. Holy crap what an episode.

@Himura - Oh man Cal would be great too, but I feel like they'll save Cal for the Fallen Order sequel ... at least for now.

@Lilvic92 - Yeah good point - I actually hope you're right there, it would mean getting both Luke and Ezra in short order. Damn, so much potential out of just one episode.

Cool. Only other Clone Wars character i want to see in live action is Cad Bane. (Doesnt have to be in Mandalorian if that unfinished arc is still canon)

The fact that the episode was a blatant love letter to Akira Kurosawa was just icing on the cake.

@TheAstoundingMan - I was thinking more Kenji Misumi but yeah, the Samurai vibes were great.

Honestly... I didn’t like Ahsoka’s characterization. Why wouldn’t she send him to Luke? She has to have met him by now... he’s a Rebel hero, the son of her former master, and is probably starting up his Jedi Order right now.

Also, she should have had a stronger reaction to finding a fellow padawan/survivor of Order 66. She’d absolutely want to make sure they make it to Tython.

@DaHyro -
"Why wouldn't Ahsoka send baby Yoda to the son of Darth Vader?"

That's why.

@DaHyro - I don't know ... I got the impression she doesn't know about Luke. Her look and tone when she said "there aren't many of us left", and her reference to "the Jedi Order" didn't carry much optimism. If I'm wrong, I agree it's bizarre she wouldn't suggest going straight to him.

Hopefully it's the same actor from Rebels (who definitely should play Sinestro in a Green Lantern movie btw).

@Darkknight2149 - Hopefully we eventually see Ezra and Sabine (maybe do a show following the search for Ezra)

@Darkknight2149 - I think Moff Gideon and Thrawn are rivals and they are candidates for Emperor. After Return of the Jedi, The Empire is divided into fragments scattered throughout the Galaxy and someone has to restore it.

@Darkknight2149 - Lars Mikkelson looks like Thrawn, and voices Thrawn. Like Katee Sackoff, this is a NO-BRAINER. I do feel for Ashley Eckstein to some degree, unfortunately, as she brought Ahsoka to what she is today. But man Rosario was perfect.

So it looks like Favreau/Filoni are doing an all-out attempt to fix the mistakes Kennedy made with her sequels.

Course correct the post-ROTJ story.

@GothamSon - This ep had nothing to do with the ST at all tho?
GothamSon
GothamSon - 11/27/2020, 10:00 AM
@Toonstrack - True, but S02 on the whole seems to be building towards a 'bridging' arc. In doing so, they might give relevancy to events and villains that didn't take off in the ST (Snoke, First Order, etc).
