THE MANDALORIAN: Latest Poster For The Disney+ Series Puts The Spotlight On Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon

The latest poster for The Mandalorian's second season puts the spotlight on the returning Moff Gideon, and something tells us you'll recognise the weapon that's hanging from his belt. Check it out...

If, like us, you were expecting the Mythrol (Horatio Sanz) to get his own poster following Friday's episode of The Mandalorian, then do we have a surprise for you!

At the end of "The Siege," Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon made his return and appeared to be spearheading a programme which will bring the Dark Troopers from the Expanded Universe into the continuity established after Disney took over the Star Wars franchise in 2012 after acquiring Lucasfilm.

Over the course of the next four episodes, we will probably be seeing a lot more of Gideon, especially now the Imperial remnants have managed to place a tracking beacon on the Razor Crest (Esposito has also previously confirmed that he shares some scenes with The Child).

Look closely at this poster, though, and you'll notice something very cool hanging from the villain's belt. Yes, that is indeed the Darksaber which was once held by Bo-Katan Kryze, Sabine Wren, and Maul. Something tells us we'll learn more about how he got his hands on the weapon as the season progresses, while it's likely he'll also unleash the ancient 'saber when he battles Din Djarin...or Ahsoka Tano!

In the opening few minutes of the episode, The Child proves himself to be a hilariously unreliable mechanic for the Razor Crest. Despite receiving instructions from Din Djarin, it seems the adorable little creature finds choosing between the red and blue wire just that little bit too complicated.

The return of Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Cara Dune (Gina Carano) has been long anticipated by fans of The Mandalorian, and they made a big impact in this latest episode. Whether they'll return again during season two remains to be seen, but there's clearly more story to tell with both characters.

As Greef Karga and Cara Dune explain (with the Mythrol from season one watching on), there's one last settlement of Imperials on Nevarro, and they're going to need Din Djarin's help to get rid of them. Of course, what none of them realise is that the base is heavily fortified and full of Stormtroopers.

The action scenes in "The Siege" were phenomenal, and director Carl Weathers has proven that he's an ideal fit for this Galaxy Far, Far Away. These three certainly make for a formidable team, though the Mythrol didn't exactly help much (he was an entertaining presence throughout, though).

Seeing TIE Fighters and speeder bikes in action is always a treat, and these guys managed to put up quite the fight (even if a couple of their friends inadvertently blew themselves up). Greef Karga and Cara Dune did a great job holding them off, but ultimately it was the Razor Crest that saved the day.
