THE MANDALORIAN Star Pedro Pascal Reveals Whether They've Started Shooting Season 3 Yet

We know season three of The Mandalorian won't hit Disney+ this year, but have cameras started rolling on the series yet? Star Pedro Pascal offered an update in a recent conversation with Ewan McGregor!

Season two of The Mandalorian ended with Din Djarin and Grogu parting ways as the mysterious creature was taken by Luke Skywalker, presumably to be trained as a Jedi (leaving us all incredibly stressed at the notion he may have been among those killed by Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren).

There's still plenty of story to tell as we head into season three, though, especially as it appears we're going to see a battle for the Darksaber and some sort of return to Mandalore.

Unfortunately, The Mandalorian won't return to Disney+ this year, with The Book of Boba Fett taking its place. As a result, we likely won't get to pick up with this story until sometime in 2022, and despite rumours that shooting was underway back in April, it appears production hasn't even started yet.

During a recent conversation with Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor for Variety's Actors on Actors video series, Pedro Pascal revealed, "We haven't shot a third season."

Hopefully, this doesn't mean there are any issues or reasons for the delay, but if the plan is for The Mandalorian to return to its October/November slot on Disney+, there's obviously still plenty of time to film the series. As always, we'll keep you updated as we learn more about Lucasfilm's plans!

Since Disney doesn't release multiple live-action SW or Marvel shows simultaneously, it's not surprising their not yet in hurry to shoot season 3, as their is more and more new shows coming out too. I wonder which we'll get first, Mando season 3 or Ahsoka.

''leaving us all incredibly stressed at the notion he may have been among those killed by Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren''

Isn't there an almost 20 year gap between the events of the Mandalorian and The Rise of Kylo Ren? Think we won't see Grogu for one season as the next will focus on Mandalore, but I can see Grogu return to Din's side in season 4. All before Luke even officially opens his Jedi Academy (which according to the wikia is in 15 aby).

As for season 3, I'm guessing The Volume is being used for the Obi-Wan Kenobi, Boba Fett and maybe even Ahsoka shows first. Wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait until october next year.
