The men who brought the hit sci-fi horror series Stranger Things to life aren't going anywhere, as Netflix has responded to rumors that creators Matt and Ross Duffer were leaving the show.
Moviefone had reported that the pair would step down from their roles as showrunners after the third season of Stranger Things wraps. The report also stated that the Duffer brothers are expected to stay on in some capacity, but would not oversee the writers room and direct the show's critical episodes as they did in the past.
An unnamed source claimed that the brothers have a deal with Netflix that requires them to launch two other projects with the massive streaming company, and that Matt and Ross would move on to produce a new series to fulfill this obligation. There were also rumors that the Duffers will go the Hollywood route and direct a theatrically released film, as they tried to do before pitching Stranger Things.
