Have our hopes of seeing more She-Venom in the planned Venom sequel been dashed? During a recent interview, Michelle Williams was asked about the follow-up and, well, her brief answer says an awful lot.

While Tom Hardy's quirky performance was well-received in Venom, Michelle Williams didn't come off anywhere near as well. It didn't help that her story arc was so uninspired and it definitely felt like the actress was phoning things in pretty much from start to finish.

Regardless of your thoughts on that, though, the door was definitely left open for Eddie Brock's former flame to return and with Venom 2 set to be released next October, Sony Pictures should start putting the cast together soon. Will that include Williams? Well, during a recent interview at Sundance, she made it clear that she knows nothing.

In fact, she admits that "I don’t even know much about Venom [1]" never mind the planned sequel!

That may not be a particularly good sign that we'll see her reprise the role of Ann Weying, as it really doesn't seem as if she was overly impressed by the first instalment. Despite that, there's a very strong chance she's under contract to return and with a new director/better script in place, She-Venom could definitely live again.

What we do know is that Tom Hardy will be back as Venom, while Woody Harrelson is going to take on the role of Cletus Kasady/Carnage for what should be a truly epic battle.

She prob never watched the film. Andrew Lincoln (Rick from walking dead) has never seen an episode of Walking dead. Charlie Cox doesn't watch DareDevil either. I guess whether or not its good or bad, actors prob don't watch their own films unless they have to.

@mastakilla39 - If I was an actor, I wouldn't.

I would be too busy critiquing myself.

@L0RDbuckethead - Makes sense. At the end of the day, we are our own biggest critic.

@mastakilla39 - Would you watch yourself if you were the porn industry? A very different kind of acting.

@marvel72 - I would for the angles and partner's reaction as they are very important. It's odd if you don't and blindly believe you did a good job.

It's like going for an interview thinking you did a good job, then getting rejected.

Well I’m sure she’ll be up for a sequel, these kinds of huge blockbusters that keep you in the public’s eye is what enables actors to make these smaller more personal movies and get a couple eyeballs on them.

@TheUnworthyThor - not really

Being in the Venom franchise is like being in the Transformers franchise.

@JoJo1982 - It's still too early to tell if this would be a Transformers or Resident Evil franchise lol. But the reception to Venom was equally as positive as the 1st transformer, so who knows as anything can happen. The 1st transformers film was pretty good what ruined it were its sequels.

May have nothing do do with it but it’s funny seeing the usual suspects praise this mediocre ass film, but then continue to shit on the MCU because...reasons. Hilarious.

And I’m sure she’ll be back in the sequel. Honestly I have no interest for a second Venom movie, unless they get decent/good writers and a Good director...then yeah I don’t really care for it. There’s no reason Carnage should look like Carrot Top lol.

Michelle, allow me to bring you up to speed...

Last year, you starred in a crappy movie that was thrown together to make money based on trademark and name recognition.

In that regard, it succeeded.
