I find it extremely hard to believe this movie is THAT bad, but this guy has been slamming on it all week. I'm not saying it's going to be great, but there's just no way it's as bad as it's been implied here.

@4N6 - its not. This guy is really really over exaggerating. Your right its not the best but its not this bad.

@4N6 - I dont expect much from the movie, but I cannot believe it is that bad either. Wilding is really slamming it (with his review giving half a star), but I Cassidy is going a lot easier on it

@4N6 - I feel it just going to be fine/meh (like Apocalypse, Thor Dark World etc).

It's not going to be a masterpiece nor will it be Fant4stic terrible.

@4N6 - Wilding is just jumping on the bandwagon. However, he's slamming it almost a little too hard.

Movie is not Catwoman or Fantastic Four reboot bad. I liken it to a DCEU movie. Either you're going to hate it with a passion, or you're going to absolutely love it. I personally loved it. Is it a really well made movie? No.

Is it an enjoyable one? Absolutely.

@Konel110693 - the movie isn't completely bad, it's a better venom compared to spiderman 3. The action scenes are pretty good, especially when brock and the symbiote work together. There's a chippy editing feel like suicide squad, and some questions left unanswered. But it's still a fun movie.

@4N6 - This guy gave BVS a glowing review. He gave ASM2 a good review. YMMV, but that tells me all I need to know about trusting his judgment.

genuinely disagree with a lot of this list.
carnage introduction was absolutely poor and riots scenes when he was travelling did seem pointless, but I thought this had the perfect amount of venom. I also had a massive smile on my face watching that last action scene. Reading your review about the final fight being over quick, i was expecting the worst. Pleasantly surprised to find it was fairly chunky and felt there was a lot of cool splashpage like images to find in there. Performances other than hardys were mediocre but michelles is fine is doesnt detract much from the movie due to nobody having as much screen time as hardy. Riz though absolutely phones it in. Now that is someone who looked bored!
I also really enjoyed eddies relationship with venom, a bit different but thought it was refreshing in a way.
Look this movie is not the best movie ever, its not oscar worthy and its got a lot of problems.
As someone who loves spider-man and likes venom, this movie was entertaining and made me forget about the stresses of the day. I understand most people will want more and there's nothing wrong with that, but it is really not that bad.

@Konel110693 - I completely agree, I found the venom screen time to be enough and the action sequences were right out of the comics. It's not perfect, but it's fun to watch compared to spiderman 3 venom.

Honestly, this isn't even worth using my AMC A-List for it. I think I'll just skip this and see A Star is Born instead.

IGN gave it a 4/10
Jeremy jahns gave it a better if you’re drunk
Multiple reviews articles all giving thumbs down
Josh giving a [frick]ing 1 thing that worked

Yeah there is no reason to believe this film is good in any way and has no redeeming qualities.

I don't about y'all, but I'm just kinda Venom'ed out. I'd rather not see or hear about this character for the next 10-15 years.

If they ever do the Morbius movie, here is my idea for a teaser:
Ext. Manhattan Skyline – Establishing – Night
A forest of skyscrapers. Some of them decaying. Their lights nearly suffocating in the blackness. Chief among them is the Empire State Building. Next to it the Statue of Liberty- no time for subtlety. Make no mistake- this city is DARK and GRITTY.
CUT TO:
Int. Biochemical lab
Researchers in white coats and medical gloves inspect a DARK red solution. Peer into microscopes. Experiment on vampire bats.
CUT TO:
Michael conducting some sort of research. What, it does not matter.
MICHAEL (V.O.)
My name is Michael Morbius. I was a biochemist. Bad things have happened to me. I have been changed. I used to be one thing. And now- I’m something else.
CUT TO:
INT. A Victorian House
A man in a black suit. Black slicked-back hair. Twirling his moustache. He sits in an armchair as he strokes his white cat and laughs maniacally, his head thrown back. And then- a crack of thunder and bolt of lightning from his window
CUT TO:
Previous Scene of Michael Researching
MICHAEL (V.O.)
My mission is to make these men who did this to me- these men who you must understand are evil- pay for all of it. My life is forever changed because of their actions. Which are evil.
MUSICAL CUE: “NOOKIE” – LIMP BIZKIT
Ext. Manhattan Skyline Again - Night
Darkness. All exterior scenes- and even interior scenes where it does not matter- take place at night. To convey the maturity of this film. Michael engages in physical combat with several men. His long dreadlocks fly furiously. The last one falls.
ZOOM:
Michael’s pale, otherworldly face. He turns sharply towards the camera. Looks directly into it from behind his dark wraparound sunglasses for a moment. He then lets out a loud HISS.
CUT TO:
BLACK
INTO FRAME:
A colony of vampire bats. Against a black background, of course. They flutter in unison and then fall into formation to reveal:

I just can't support a Venom movie without Spider-Man. Giving money to Sony so they can make more of this crap would just feel wrong.

So if this movie bombs, we’re never seeing Venom in the MCU? Feige probably won’t use a villain or character that was already used in previous non-MCU movies.

So now people are mad Josh is giving a bad movie a bad time? After all the screaming and complaining and discrediting because he liked both ASM1 and BvS, now it's "Oh Josh, you're just jumping on the bandwagon! Typical!"?

I don't think any of you have your minds made up to be honest. None of you know what you want from the guy.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing (haven't seen Venom--don't plan on it either though I'll be fine reading all the spoilers). I just find it funny now that we have an opposite situation and some are already complaining just because it's Josh.
