VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Director Andy Serkis Says "Of Course" Venom Will One Day Meet Spider-Man

Everyone wants to see Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock cross paths with Tom Holland's Spider-Man, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage's director has now weighed in on that possibly happening somewhere down the line...

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is fast approaching, and while the title makes it clear who Eddie Brock will face in this sequel, many fans are more intrigued by the possibility of a crossover with Spider-Man. No matter how you feel about Tom Holland's Peter Parker heading into "Sony's Spider-Man Universe," this meeting is inevitable, which Andy Serkis acknowledged in an interview with IGN.

"That's the question on everyone's lips. They want to know if Venom is gonna meet Spider-Man, but personally, it's never gonna happen," he said. "I'm only joking, of course, it's gonna happen!"

"Look, it depends when you want to get there, and also, what the appetite is. If people want more Venom stories, then, to jump straight to Spider-Man, you could be missing out on so many great supervillain characters in between now and then. So, in a way, by rushing to it, you might be closing the door. There are other characters like Toxin, and all the other symbiotes to be had before then."

"But, point taken, yes everybody wants to see Venom fight Spider-Man," Serkis continued. "[But] they'll be sacrificing all of that stuff if that want to rush straight to that."

The Venom: Let There Be Carnage director makes a lot of good points here, but the Lethal Protector could quite easily cross paths with the wall-crawler before returning to his own solo adventures. However, a Spider-Man crossover definitely has a "main event" feel to it, so perhaps it would be a better idea to end this trilogy by pitting Eddie against Toxin or Mac Gargan, for example, first?

Still, we're pretty sure a meeting with Spider-Man is next for Venom, as both characters appear to be at the height of popularity and a movie like this would be a huge post-pandemic hit for Sony.
