VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE First Social Media Reactions Revealed Following London Fan Screening VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE First Social Media Reactions Revealed Following London Fan Screening

Following a special fan screening that took place in London earlier today, we have the first social media reactions for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and something tells us these won't be what you expected!

By JoshWilding - Sep 14, 2021 03:09 PM EST

A fan screening for Venom: Let There Be Carnage took place in London earlier this evening, and the response from those lucky enough to be in attendance has been glowing thus far. This is often the case, of course, but a quick look at many of the Twitter profiles below indicates that these are legit comic book fans and not your typical influencers just happy to be invited to an event like this.

It's also worth noting that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings received similarly glowing praise from early fan screenings, and that ended up being one of Marvel Stuidos' best reviewed movies. Perhaps hiring Andy Serkis paid off, eh?

We've seen Venom: Let There Be Carnage (last week, in fact), but as far as we're aware, that's all we can tell you right now! You can, however, get a glimpse at our reaction in the Tweet shared by Sony Pictures below, which is accompanied by a very cool new TV spot featuring some real carnage

We'll hopefully be able to share more with you soon, but for now, check out the reactions from fans who attended tonight's screening below.

I honestly don’t trust a single word.I’m glad it wasn’t a bunch of people saying how terrible it was but still have my doubts

@Tpo81 - I trust not a single early review for any film. WB/DC, Marvel Studios, or Sony.

@Tpo81 - Ditto. When a reviewer praises the film because “they got to see it a month before everyone else and they got a selfie with Tom Hardy”, I don’t trust their review.

@santoanderson - amen to this. add "stay for the credits" and im like "was that the only good thing?"

@santoanderson - especially when they think it is an MCU film.

@Tpo81 - “Venom is my favorite of the modern MCU movies” …

I’m not gonna lie, I enjoyed the first one … but listen. 😂😂😂
That guy has to be taking the piss, right??

@Tpo81 - Well, I don't trust the opinions here of other opinions either.

@Tpo81 - Me too. Rise of the Skywalker and TASM had that same kind of reaction before. Not to mention, BVS and WW1984 were thought to be stronger sequels before the actual reviews came along and look how they turned out. A lot of things were wrong with the trailers, dialogue and cameras, everything. The second movie will be no different than the first one.

@Tpo81 - I agree. These are like Fant4stic all over again. Whenever people say "go see this movie" it's not a good sign.

@LongMayHeReign - I know as soon as I read that I stopped any feelings of maybe they fixed it and the trailers were just bad

@LongMayHeReign - I mean… I know it probably won’t be… but WHAT IF (big IF) the post credit scene teased here connects it to the MCU…

Favorite modern day mcu film? Dafuq that mean.

Glad people enjoyed it. I know first reactions are always overly positive but I don't blame them seeing things early does kick things up a bit

LongMayHeReign - 9/14/2021, 4:04 PM
@MyCoolYoung - Why do I feel like a Sony rep told this dude to say it's an MCU film? Because anyone with a brain would know that it isn't MCU.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 9/14/2021, 4:24 PM
@LongMayHeReign - 100% agree. If it was in the mcu venom would clearly be like war machine jr or something *just kidding guys*

But yea it’s pretty obvious it’s not. It doesn’t have not a one Easter egg or character from the mcu

@MyCoolYoung - @LongMayHeReign For us it's clear as day but a big chunk of the audience is not invested like us and have no clue. They just like most superhero movies and don't give it a second thought. And I wouldn't call them stupid when it comes to other stuff. I even meet people who don't the difference between Marvel and DC, they think it's one and the same(most of these are slow in the head however).

Very very interested in what the mid/post credit is gonna be? Spidey…? Some form of an MCU connection? Knull?

@ShaggyRogers -

A sample of the symbiote left after the fight between Venom and Carnage that comes into contact with an student of Midtown High without him realizing it, maybe ?
DalekCraigWasson
DalekCraigWasson - 9/14/2021, 6:11 PM
@ShaggyRogers - I think it is some sort of Spidey tease. Probably not Tom Holland showing up, but something like Venom sees Spider-Man swinging on TV or his picture in the Bugle and crumples up the paper, or something like that.
vegetaray
vegetaray - 9/14/2021, 8:07 PM
@DalekCraigWasson - Close…Eddie and Venom on the run hiding out in a run down beach shack…Venom offers to show Eddie (subconsciously) a glimpse of the tragedy Venom and other symbiotes have suffered through their history…Just as he begins Eddie gets distracted by a news report on TV about Spider Man…Close up shows that it’s the MCU ~ Tom Holland Spidey…Eddie, now in mental synch with Venom says how much he “hates that guy” then licks the TV with Venom’s long nasty tongue…
