Sony has shared a new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and this is brutal! As well as revealing more about Cletus Kasady's transformation, we also get to see more of Eddie's dynamic with Venom...

The new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been released, but before we get to that, there might be a bigger story at play here. Neither the trailer nor social media posts list that September release date; instead, the sequel is "exclusively in movie theaters this fall."

With the Delta Variant of COVID-19 causing so many issues, it's possible Sony Pictures is hedging its bets here in case another delay follows as a result of theaters once again closing their doors.

On a brighter note, this trailer is certainly better than the last one! There's plenty of Carnage action as we learn more about how Cletus Kasady gains a symbiote of his own, while we're sure that mention of The Daily Bugle is going to get everyone talking. Venom: Let There Be Carnage is going to be PG-13, but director Andy Serkis could be pushing the boundaries of that rating based on what we see here.

It's hard to ignore the same sort of humour here that we got in 2018's Venom, particularly when we see Venom calling Eddie Brock a "loser" or refusing to fight until he's given permission to eat people. That worked for a lot of fans, of course, so we'll see how it works in the context of the movie.

In the movie, Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector, Venom, one of Marvel's greatest and most complex characters. The movie also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage.

Looks good to me. I see Sony not releasing the No Way Home trailer is pretty much an inside joke for them now.

It's not funny anymore.

@KWilly - LMAOOOOOO it’s really not. I don’t know what they’re thinking smh. Is it really their decision when to release it?

Don’t know what to make of it. I’ll watch it but I’m not going to be happy about it. Wish Marvel would’ve gotten their hands on Venom and integrated him with Spidey the way it was in the comics smh.

One would think Spider-Man day would be the perfect opportunity to release a No Way Home trailer, but instead we get his +1.

Anyway, I'm still not sold not Hardy as Brock (hardy is way too cool looking for him to convince me as a loser) or Hardy as the voice of Venom, but I'm starting to look forward to Harrelson as Carnage. Could be very interesting if executed well.

Definite improvement over the 1st trailer. Hope this is the tone their going for. Woody looks to steal the show. Still not sure i'll consume in cinema though.

Humour hasn't really landed with me in this trailer but Woody certainly seems much better and looks the most interesting part of this film for me
