Marvel's Spider-Man creative director Bryan Intihar has submitted a "first story draft" for something that many have speculated to be a sequel to the critically acclaimed PS4 game from Insomniac Games.

Marvel's Spider-Man was one of 2018's best games, as evidenced by its numerous awards (including Game of the Year nomination), stellar reviews, and record-breaking sales with over 9M copies sold as of November 2018. Given the game's success, both critically and commercially, it would be silly of Sony and developer Insomniac Games to not pursue a sequel.

While nothing official has been announced, it appears as though work on a sequel has already begun. Insomniac Games' Bryan Intihar, who served as creative director on Marvel's Spider-Man, posted an intriguing tweet this week that many have interpreted to be a hint towards a possible sequel to the critically-acclaimed PS4 game.

Now it's important to note that absolutely nothing in his tweet confirms, or even suggests, that his story draft is for a sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man. But with the game's success and Intihar's creative director position on the game, many have run with the possibility that Insomniac Games has already begun developing a follow-up game.

Although to be fair, Intihar was talking about the possibility of a sequel months ago. Shortly after Marvel's Spider-Man released, he was asked about future plans for the franchise, and he revealed that there was already a plan for future Spider-Man games.

"I think that’s the fun. There’s a plan. I think there are many different ways we can go. Also, I just want to digest what people are thinking about the game," he said at the time (via DualShockers).

Intihar even went so far as to suggest that the Venom storyline could be a possibility for a future game. When he was asked about the Black Suit version of Spider-Man not appearing in the game, Intihar explained that a simple unlockable suit wouldn't do that complex story - which he considers to be one of the best - justice.

"I think that something like that suit deserves its day in the spotlight. Just making it an unlockable suit wouldn’t be doing it justice,” Intihar said. “It’s one of the best stories for Spider-Man and I think that it’s a complex story. That story needs to be told and it needs to be told in the way that Insomniac would tell it.”

Again, none of this is confirmation that we're getting a sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man, but it certainly sounds like Insomniac Games has plenty of story ideas.

Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create a brand-new and authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in Marvel's New York. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.

Marvel's Spider-Man is now available exclusively on PlayStation 4.

I think the scene with Harry Osborn in that tank was a pretty obvious nod to where the story is going next

This guy gets it. The black suit deserves much more that just being an unlockable.

Here’s a request from me personally.
Take out the [frick]ing Mary Jane missions!!!!! That shit took away from the game in my opinion. Frustrating and boring as hell. Other than that the rest of the game was so choice

Nice!!! I have 3 stealth missions left and then I’ll have beat the entire game. Those stealth missions are annoyingly fun.

Hell yeah. I can't wait to see what they do with the Osborn's, etc. Best Spider-Man game ever.

I honestly think we'll get alot of biological villains with Osborn being in the picture. Kraven could fill in Sable's role of being someone international brought in to help out with the crisis. Also with the Symbiote, we could get something Last Hunt-esque. Well, I guess we'll see. Can't wait.

I loved this game, but i want to know how Rocksteady felt about it. The gameplay was essentially the Arkham games but with Spider-Man. It was almost like fan-content at times.

Excited for whatever comes next. The story and characterisation is pretty much everything when it comes to Spider-Man content, so i hope they continue to nail it.
