MONSTER HUNTER Live-Action Movie Moves Up To Christmas Day To Challenge WONDER WOMAN 1984

Going to the movies on Christmas Day is something of an American tradition for many families in the U.S., but COVID-19's chokehold on the nation's movie theaters is putting that in jeopardy.

Whatever box office dollars can be squeezed out on Christmas Day in the United States were likely going to line the pockets of Warner Bros., as the studio surprised many by remaining committed to releasing Wonder Woman 1984 on Christmas Day (while also simultaneously releasing the film on HBO Max).

However, WB just got a bit of competition as Screen Gems has moved Paul W.S. Anderson's (Resident Evil film franchise) Monster Hunter up 5 days from December 30 to the 25th. This comes after the film was previously moved up from April 23, 2021.

Earlier today, an international trailer from China was released which showcases much more promising footage than the previously released trailer. This one focuses less heavily on the modern military element in the film and presents a movie more familiar to those who recently played Monster Hunter: World from Capcom.

If you're venturing out to theaters this Holiday, are you watching Wonder Woman 1984 or Monster Hunter? Let us know in the comment section below.

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower.
