"Get over here!"

We brought you a series of character posters spotlighting most of the heroes and villains of the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot earlier today, but one final banner has now been released (via Collider), and we've definitely saved the best for last!

While we did get a glimpse of Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine, The Last Samurai) as Hanzo Hasashi in the initial batch of official stills, this is our first look at the undead warrior in-costume as the fiery spirit of vengeance (no, not that one) known as Scorpion.

Lewis Tan's Cole Young is expected to be the main focus of the plot, but the blood feud between the clans of Hanzo and the man who will eventually become Sub-Zero, Bi-Han (Joe Taslim), will also receive some of the spotlight in what promises to be a brutal 10-minute opening sequence.

In “Mortal Kombat,” MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat is set for a simultaneous release in theaters and on HBO Max this April 12.

The masked characters look great. Everyone else... not so much.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Wouldn’t be shocking if they spent most of the budget on outfits lmao. Still looking forward to this though, not a lot of new content coming out because of the pandemic. So I’m pumped for anything coming out

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Who looks bad to you? I feel like they nailed everyones look.

@Poop - Raiden is too young, Jax looks like Steve Harvey, Kano has no faceplate, Mileena should be Asian, Shang Tsung's armor (which he shouldn't even have) looks like something out of Dragon Ball Evolution.

I'll give credit to Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Sonya though.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Raiden doesn't even look old in the games, except in few, he's a fricking god.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Jax looks like Steve Harvey? Really? Thats...racist.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Someone at one of the test screenings said that Kano gets his face plate by the end of the movie but wouldnt elaborate on how.

@Origame - Not really. Its a sentiment thats been expressed by many people. It was all over reddit and twitter when the first pics were released. There was a huge resemblance in those first pictures.

@doublenegative - it's really just the mustache though. I can see this as like a meme but not as a genuine complaint of the film.

@Origame - I don't think you know what racist means.

@doublenegative - Ah. Yeah, it's his trademark so I'd expect him to get it eventually. Maybe this film is meant to show the origin of his damaged face.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - suggesting people of one race look alike is classic racism. In this case the only real similarity is mustache.

@Origame - How am I suggesting that a race of people look alike if I just said he DOESN'T look like Jax?

@Origame - Yes, he does. Does Steve Harvey look like Jax from the games? No.

@Origame - Are you suggesting that Mehcad Brooks looks like John Parrish just because they're both black? That's... racist.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - no. I'm suggesting they look alike because they were both chosen to play the same character. It's really telling that that's your response.

If this movie along with Dune and The Matrix are major success you can bet

we're getting spin-off shows on HBOMax

HBOMax looks like they might have the most IP moving forward

DC
Game of Thrones
Harry Potter
Dune
The Matrix
Mortal Kombat

@WakandaTech - I think this could be served better as a series, if nothing more than for the plethora of characters involved.

Yeah, so far Scorpion and Sub Zero are looking the most inspired out of all the characters revealed so far imo.
