FORTNITE Adds Character Skins For Finn And Rey Ahead Of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Event

The Star Wars crossover event with Fortnite — which includes a sneak peek at The Rise of Skywalker this weekend — was expanded today with the release of all new cosmetic outfits for Finn, Rey and more.

As revealed last week, Fortnite will be hosting a special event this weekend in which players will be treated to an exclusive sneak peek clip from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. But as we learned tonight at The Game Awards, that's not all Disney and Lucasfilm have planned with this crossover event.

For a limited time, players can purchase new Rey and Finn outfits (character skins) from the in-game shop. Also available is a Sith Trooper trooper outfit. The outfits are available for purchase for 1,500 V-Bucks (or roughly $15) each. There's also a First Order Tie Fighter glider — which is deployed when you launch from the Battle Bus or into the air — for 1,200 V-Bucks ($12) and a special "Traitor!" emote (from The Force Awakens) for 300 V-Bucks.

That's not all, though! Players who log into the game on Saturday for the exclusive sneak peek will be treated to The Whisper Glider for free. It's designed to look like the ship that Kylo Ren is seen flying in the trailers for The Rise of Skywalker.

This isn't the first time we've seen a Star Wars crossover with Fortnite. Last month, a Stormtrooper skin was added to the game to celebrate the release of Electronic Arts' Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This is, however, the first time we've seen such major characters from the galaxy far, far away.

The exclusive Star Wars sneak peek will be shown on Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the in-game drive-in theater, Risky Reels.
