Move over Deadpool and Spider-Man 2 because Wonder Woman just moved past them both at the worldwide box office! With an overseas haul of $396 million as of this weekend, the movie has a global cume of $808 million. That's an incredible sum and one which exceeds what anyone believed it would ever earn. After all, studio execs don't think female-led superhero movies like this make any money!

This is good news for Patty Jenkins as she's currently negotiating for a record-setting sum from Warner Bros. to take the helm of the follow-up as the filmmaker has quite rightfully demanded equal pay.

Those talks will almost certainly go in her favour after this and Marvel Studios no doubt feels mighty confident about Captain Marvel right now. As of right now, Wonder Woman is the 11th highest grossing superhero movie of all-time. Unfortunately, the Amazon warrior is unlikely to break into the Top 10 as Spider-Man made over $821 million in 2002. It's possible but this is still an amazing result.
