It's Finally Official: Patty Jenkins Will Direct WONDER WOMAN 2

Some good news for the DC Extended Universe today as it's been confirmed that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will return to take the helm of the highly anticipated sequel. Hit the jump for details...

It's been revealed today that Patty Jenkins will indeed take the helm of the highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel which is set to be released on December 13th, 2019. She'll co-write the movie with Geoff Johns and the filmmaker has received a significant pay increase which brings what she'll earn on part with male directors. Jenkins received $1 million for the first instalment but that's all changed.

After all, Wonder Woman has earned over $813 million worldwide and was a critical hit for Warner Bros. at a time when they desperately needed one after Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad

Now, Jenkins looks set to earn around $9 million, the same amount Zack Snyder made after helming Man of Steel. She'll also get a considerable backend and it's fair to say that's well-deserved given what an incredible job she did with the first instalment. It's obviously still very early days for Wonder Woman 2 but we'll hopefully get some casting news early next year when pre-production kicks off properly.
