Wonder Woman 1984 recently landed a new August release date, and we're now just left hoping that Patty Jenkins' DC Comics adaptation is able to meet that target. COVID-19 has caused chaos in Hollywood, and there's no guarantee that theaters will be open by the fall, never mind the summer!
As that release date news broke fairly recently, some elements of the Wonder Woman sequel's marketing campaign continue unabated. That includes magazine features, and Gal Gadot's Amazon Warrior is going to receive the spotlight in an upcoming issue of Empire Magazine.
As you can see, the first cover puts Diana Prince in the Golden Eagle armour which has been used heavily in Wonder Woman 1984's marketing campaign from the start. The second, meanwhile, is an 80s-inspired shot of the hero in that slightly more colourful version of her regular costume.
Warner Bros. has been insistent that Wonder Woman 1984 won't receive anything other than a theatrical debut, but it will be interesting to see whether that changes, especially if another delay becomes necessary. Based on what Disney has done, though, it seems more likely that the follow-up would be pushed into 2021 before that happens!
