It was recently announced that Wonder Woman 1984 had been given a new release date due to the coronavirus pandemic, so it might be a while before we see any new official marketing material for Patty Jenkins' sequel. We do have some new promo art for you guys to take a look at, however.

WONDER WOMAN 1984 Director Patty Jenkins Candidly Reveals Why She Decided Not To Helm THOR 2

This image was spotted on a tie-in t-shirt, and features Diana (Gal Gadot) taking flight with her trusty Lasso of Truth at the ready.

Check out the new artwork below along with six recently released stills from the movie. Wonder Woman 1984 will now hit theaters on August 14.

Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah. Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ follow up to the Super Hero’s first outing, last summer’s record-breaking “Wonder Woman,” which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. “Wonder Woman 1984” will also be helmed by acclaimed director Patty Jenkins, and star Gal Gadot in the title role. As previously announced, the film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. And Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers.

Diana in Action

A previously seen shot of Diana (Gal Gadot) taking out some bad guys with her Lasso of Truth. It's been confirmed that this will be her primary weapon in Wonder Woman 1984, as the sword she wielded in the first film was deemed too violent.

This is a screenshot from the most recent trailer, as Diana and her long-lost love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) take to the skies.

The Mall

A not terribly exciting glimpse of a shopping mall. We know this will be the location for one of the movie's first set pieces.

Steve Trevor

How Steve Trevor returns has yet to be confirmed, but if a recent plot leak does turn out to be accurate, fans may not be too happy with the explanation.

Wonder Woman #2

Another shot of Wondy handily incapacitating a pair of goons.

Maxwell Lord and Barbara Minerva

The villains of the piece. Pedro Pascal plays Maxwell Lord, who seemingly inherits the power to grant someone's greatest desire. Kristen Wiig portrays Barbara Minerva, who starts out as Diana's friend before transforming into Cheetah.

Now just need to wait to see if she actually flies in the movie

@dracula - I think people are forgetting that in pt 1, Ares taught/showed her how to fly during their fight

She flew and shot lightning before killing ares?

She even slowly levitated down afterwards.

I think people got confused because JL didn't acknowledge Wonder Woman's new learned powers, but Wonder Woman didn't really acknowledge BVS either so...

will be tough to top the first film

that second clip is my favorite part of the movie, well starting with No Man's Land ending there

@dracula - The first clip, I think, is my favourite part. That's such a sensible, subversive, and clever stance and moment. It's just a shame that they proceed to undermine it a bit wit the following boss battle. The movie's pretty perfect beyond that — as far as I can remember.

@Nebula - While the final fight could have been better in terms of special effects, I never really got why people said it hurt the film. They make it clear that Ares didn't actually cause the war.

Personally like the second clip more because its just a great scene, doesn't really push the story forward, but we get to know more about the characters and see them interact with the people they are trying to help. Love Captain America The First Avenger, but this is part of the reason I think Wonder Woman was the better film, we get to know her team a lot more than we got to know the Howling Commandos. The way I see it, Captain America was felt to me like a superhero movie set during a war, Wonder Woman felt like a war movie with a superhero

@dracula - It's superfluous for one. Outright not featuring a generic big bad would be totally in line with the great moment. "You don't think I wish I could tell you that it was one bad guy to blame? It's not."

The boss battle just seems like a studio mandated thing — like an executive saw it and was like "What's this mature statement about the nature of mankind? Where are the explosions and CGI? Where's the one bad guy to blame?"

That scene, Diana is befuddled because she has killed (who she thought was) Ares but people are still fighting. What happens when Diana defeats (actual) Ares? The war ends, they all stop fighting.

He's not wholly to blame, so it doesn't undermine it entirely, but the film would've been better for not including any of the David Thewlis mess.

@dracula - I've always found the Captain America comparisons to be unwarranted and superficial. It's not like The First Avenger tries and fails to make you care about the Howling Commandos. You can praise Wonder Woman for utilising its side characters well without dragging something else. Two superhero movies set during different World Wars? Must be eternal nemeses!

That's such an awkward design.

Wish I could find a regular Wonder Woman shirt with nothing but the classic Wonder Woman symbol for men

@dracula - I remember being gifted some Justice League socks. Each pair of socks was representative of a member of the League. They even had Cyborg in there but no Wonder Woman. That's hilarious. That's ridiculous.

All the talk about men and boys being inherently opposed to female characters when in acutality we're all for female characters but it's like we're being instructed to not or we're not allowed to.

@Thing94 -
A cheesy 80's action adventure featuring Wonder Woman is exactly what we need after this rather shitty year.
