There, that should help with this drama just share some of that profit with investors, and maybe share some from hbomax subscriptions depending on how many accounts watch it and how often they watch it.

Isn't that also on or around that date WW84 dissappears again from streaming? Can see this happen in other territories too

@bkmeijer - yeah ww84 is only on hbo max for 30 days in the USA then it goes back to theaters exclusively for the next 60 days. after that it will go back to pvod then standard dvd/blu ray release.

this is why its best to see ww84 on hbo max asap. funny thing is ww84 is not guaranteed to return on hbo max either, i read somewhere that similar to the potter films its supposed to be on peacock 1st but they prob made a deal to have it rotate between both services which is very odd

bkmeijer2 - 12/19/2020, 5:46 AM
@mastakilla39 - I think it'll end up on HBO Max again. With HP it makes sense WB cut a deal with another service to have the movies there, but since WW84 is a new movie by WB I think AT&T kinda told them to put it on HBO Max. Just like how all new Disney/Marvel/Star Wars movies will end up on Disney+

@Carnage1991 - dont know if u can avoid spoilers that long. sites will remove the spoiler tag right after it premieres in the states.

With how much uk keeps getting screwed with some of these streaming releases, i was prepared for them to just replace the release date for there with a laughing emoji.

I had like a day to watch it before the cinema closed again in the area of Scotland I live in. Guess I’ll be waiting till January (or most likely till a HD version is available online an hour after its release)

This is going to be a disaster. It should be a PVOD in the States as well. I get doing it ONCE with WW84 to up subs, but they never should have done that with their whole slate.
mastakilla39
mastakilla39 - 12/19/2020, 5:11 AM
@inkniron - people in the states will not go back to theaters until enough people are vaccinated or the restrictions lift. So if our leaders say that those prob wont happen until the end of 2021 then no 1 is going back until mid 2022 at the earliest. makes no sense for wb to accrue an additional 10 - 100 mil holding a slate without any guarantees. With more subs they are guaranteed a return in the long run. Then once HBO Max launches in UK and China for a price equivalent to 15 USD then ut will be worth it all.

@mastakilla39 - Oh, I never expect the theater experience to ever be the same. They have to figure a way to maximize their profits though. It's not like I have done a forensic accounting of their financials but it's going to have to be a metric shit ton of subs to offset releasing over a dozen movies, with no premium charge, on top of the basic sub, especially when a lot of them need to be multiple 9 figure hitters to make money in a theater.

Imagine if they pushed it to next year and the movie made money. Now it looks like it will barely top 200 milion. Big L WB and AT&TA

People are bored of this movie already and it’s not even out yet. Black Widow will be the same. The worst thing is that it’s not even their fault but these films have lost all of their hype.

Saw this at the cinema today (UK).

Gadot is honestly spectacular here. Very emotional scenes involving Diana in this one (more so than in the first film) and I almost cried near the end of the film. She was that good.

Zimmer's score had some very good cues (as always) and the action showcased much more of Diana' various powers. Golden Eagle suit was perfection.

Cheetah was also very good and my concern of her CGI looking "Cats"-like was gone during the final battle. In close-ups she was mostly practical and looked quite good.

Just wished the action scenes were more and longer. There are technically 4 action scenes, each being around 4-5 mins.

All in all 8/10 - little cheesiness here and there, but overall the film is another solid entry by Jenkins (thought it doesn't top the first one for me) and the 80's tone really brightens up the film.

The DCEU definitely feels fresher when involving talents, other than Snyder.

@kylo0607 - Watched it yesterday, in Johnnesburg, loved it.

Gadot is stunning as Diana.

I think this movie might have one of the best superhero entrances ever, brought tears to my eyes
