WONDER WOMAN 2 Director Patty Jenkins Confirms Kristen Wiig As Cheetah For The Sequel
We've heard that Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) was in talks for the role of Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2 but director Patty Jenkins has now confirmed the news, and you can find her comments after the jump...
The response to the news that Kristen Wiig was in talks for the role of Cheetah in Patty Jenkins' upcoming Wonder Woman sequel was met with a mixed response, especially as the actress is best known for her comedic work. She's also not who many comic book fans envisioned playing a villain like Cheetah but the news has now been made 100% official by the movie's director in the Tweet below.
As you can see, she's clearly excited to welcome Wiig to the cast and this hopefully means we're going to start getting more news over the coming weeks, especially with shooting expected to start in May.
For now, though, it appears as if Wonder Woman 2 has its lead villain and it should definitely be interesting seeing Gal Gadot's Amazon Warrior do battle with this character. How do you feel about Wiig playing Cheetah? Do you think the unconventional casting choice will work? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below and stay tuned for updates on the sequel.
