WONDER WOMAN 2 Director Patty Jenkins Teases A New Love Interest For Diana Prince In The Sequel

Wonder Woman 2 director Patty Jenkins talks here about what she has planned for the sequel, teasing a new love interest for Diana Prince along with the introduction of other fresh faces in the DCEU...

Wonder Woman 2 is currently being written by Patty Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and Dave Callaham and in a new interview, the director has shed some light on what we should expect from the highly anticipated sequel which is currently set to be released on November 1st, 2019. Jenkins is actually doing the rounds hoping to get the DC Comics adaptation an awards push, so that should be very interesting!

Regardless, asked about what's coming next in the franchise, Jenkins indicated that we should expect to see some new characters - an inevitability in a superhero franchise - along with a fresh love interest.

"It’s really still going to other values of hers, and a similar formula insofar as making a great, enjoyable fun movie but that ultimately in its third act turns some very big issues, and a very big experience that will aim to have slightly more weight and profundity than it has to have. Because that’s a formula that I really like, and I like the idea of taking somebody on a very solid, great journey but that arrives at a bigger question being answered. So it’s like that but because she is Wonder Woman and she’s here now and she’s fully developed, it’s got great fun from the start and great big superhero presence from the start, and is funny and a great love story again and a couple new unbelievable characters who I’m so excited about, who are very different than were in the last movie."

Who Diana Prince's new love interest (there are a few options) could be remains to be seen but Jenkins wouldn't elaborate any further on what's to come in the sequel beyond saying only, "I feel like it’s just the right amount the same world of Wonder Woman as the first movie while being a completely different story that tackles something very different but very similarly singular. One story."

Rumour has it that Wonder Woman 2 will take place during the Cold War but it's equally as likely that we'll follow Diana's story in the present day. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts below.
