Actually woke up for a minute for Dazzler. Funny i never once considered she'd show up again.
Fox true to form all the way to the end.

So much wasted potential from Fox. And a $3.6m third weekend total... ouch.

I forgot this movie existed already.

Kind of a shame they managed to have Dazzler and Jubilee in the last two movies, yet I didn't even know until after I knew they were in it

@MalseMarcel - Did Jubilee even do anything in this franchise?

@DeadWade213 - I think they cut her best scene (at the mall, ha).

I want Rachel Stevens from S Club 7 to play Dazzler in the MCU.

I really considered seeing this movie yesterday. My nephews and I saw "MIB" instead.

Ot: The movie has been out for about TWO MONTHS. I'm gonna give Holland a pass on this one. https://deadline.com/2019/06/tom-holland-spills-avengers-endgame-spoiler-1202636713/

@Feralwookiee - he gets a pass on that one. Spoilers for endgame need to be common conversation for Far From Home to work. A unique situation vs your typical spoiler-filled movie

My favorite part of the movie, definitely.

In this universe, Dazzler was a record-selling musical artist in the 80's, yet by the 90's, she's "performing" in the woods while high school kids pass around wine coolers, and Scott and Jean (now in their late-20's) are wandering around with their hormones positively spraying through their business-casual wear.

And by "favorite", I mean it's a perfect encapsulation of how confused this movie is about who any of these characters are, what any of their defining traits or motives are, and just why any of this is happening in a movie at all. It doesn't even know what it's trying to be in this scene, but it does it anyway. The perfect Kinberg moment.

@Spock0Clock - Fox seems to be what happens when you let people that have heard about comic books but never really spent any time reading them. They know that characters have been around for decades and never age, but they don't understand that they don't age because in a sliding timescale you're supposed to avoid identifying the era the story is happening in. They don't age because, ultimately, not much time has really gone by.

Like Uncanny X-Men might have started publication in the 1960s, but narratively it's only been a little more than a decade. Sure, certain details have changed, like mentions of Vietnam changing to Iraq when they're referenced, but for the most part everything is always "a few years ago." That kind of thing doesn't work when you're going out of your way to identify the 70s, 80s, 90s ...

@Reeds2Much - In their defense, sliding timescales are a genuine headache. But yeah, Fox went out of their way to create the problem there since most movies can operate in a vaguely modern setting without worrying about calendar dates, yet Fox caught the prequel bug.

One of the biggest problems with Fox is that they treated so many of their characters as Easter eggs, and not as characters.

I like the look of Dazzler. It would be good to give her a spotlight.

I have to say in the after comments.... I agree with all but the last. If you want to make a comic book movie, keep the character similar to what was already presented. don't go swapping genders or racial types unless it is needed. No one would have wanted Gene Grey instead of Jean Grey.... and folks would pitch a bitch if Sunspot where Asian or Storm where from Bali instead of Egypt. There are certain things that should be left alone. If your making a movie based on a comic book, then base it off the comic and it's source material. Don't call it X-men because it has wolverine then fill the background characters with Alpha Flight.
