Has Fox Removed X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX From Its Release Schedule? Has Fox Removed X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX From Its Release Schedule?

X-Men: Dark Phoenix has already been delayed due to significant reshoots but has Fox now removed it from its release schedule altogether? UPDATED WITH RESPONSE FROM FOX!!!

!!!UPDATE!!!
Fox has reached out and confirmed that they have NOT pulled Dark Phoenix from the web site. The fact of the matter is that other than a "First Look" in December for the Entertainment Weekly cover,  the film was never added. Official web sites for Fox films typically launch at the same time that the first trailer lands online.

Simon Kinberg will make his directorial debut with Dark Phoenix but problematic test screenings reportedly resulted in Fox ordering significant reshoots, something which may not bode well for the movie (bear in mind Kinberg is said to have helmed Fantastic Four's reshoots with disastrous results).

Now, speculation is mounting that Fox may have pulled the movie from its release schedule altogether because it's disappeared from their website. It could be a glitch, an error resulting from Dark Phoenix being pushed back from November to February, or nothing whatsoever. However, it's also feasible that with the Disney/Fox merger on the horizon, something strange could be going on with this one.

Fox could have decided to pull the plug on the movie because it's not working or there may be so many problems with Dark Phoenix, it's going to be delayed again. Something which is also odd is the fact the studio won't be bringing the Marvel Comics adaptation to Comic-Con despite the fact a teaser trailer really should be ready to go by this stage. Surely this isn’t pulled.. that’d be wasting so much money wouldn’t it? Even if the movie is terrible, it’s going to lose more money if it’s not release?

@BlindWedjat -

"Josh Wilding 27 minutes ago

Has Fox Removed X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX From Its Release Schedule?"

I know what you mean lol

@BlindWedjat - Would've been hilarious if it had've been "Has Fox removed Dark Phoenix from their schedule?" and the article just consisted of "No, no they have not."

@HannibalLecter - I think that had to be it lol

@Nebula - We all know Josh would never write that ;)

@BlindWedjat - I have been able to resist Josh's articles for months, but this one was too intriguing. Should have known it would amount to nothing much. I hope the rest of you are starting to ignore Josh published articles. Talk about a shit journalists

@BlindWedjat - Maybe to make this movie remotely correct it would have to be the fourth or fifth in a string of movies setting up the final chapter. Fox is clueless on the Canon of the X-Men. The story was set up over years in the comics and that's what made it great, not the final chapter

@Saintsinnister - That's funny because I find myself looking at the story authors now mostly only opening ror's. Josh has abused his credibility to the point it's personal

@BritishMonkey - aquaman changed it release date 3 times, it could be due to some number of issues. nothing new

@RasAlGhul - Aquaman changed its release date before shooting tho, Dark Phoenix and New Mutants changed their release date (New Mutants twice) during their post-production

@RasAlGhul - we keep getting news about Aquaman. Dark Phoenix is pretty much forgotten.

@Oskir - its because Disney is becoming a monopoly. all the major studios that were able to compete with disney back then like sony, fox, universal, wb, etc. can no longer compete with disney's release schedule. disney has 2 pixar, 3 live action remakes, 2 disney animation, 2 lucas arts, 3 marvel, etc. film every year going forward. no competitor can compete with disney's upcoming slate.

@mastakilla39 - Stop spreading lies. Disney releases less films than the other studios. It's not their fault that most of their films keeps winning the box office in big ways.

I am glad Xmen is going back to Disney more than likely...

But a small part of me still wants to see this because of MCavoy as Professor X and Fassbender as Magneto in their last movie together as those two, most likely. They have been sooooo good and arguably as good as Steward and Mckellen (I think Fassbender was better than Ian my a little bit). Those are the two things I will miss the most from XMen's rights going away, so hopefully this film sees the light of the day.

McAvoy*

@Menks123 - Couldn't agree more with you, I liked Fassbender's Magneto more than Ian's as well but I reckon the former had better scenes and dialogues to work with.

I just hope Marvel Studios keeps the best elements of the Fox X-Men movies and then add some of their own magic.

@HannibalLecter - I just think Fassbender's Magneto is one of the best CBM performances of all time, and his interactions with McAvoy were sooo good.

I think they would keep Reynolds as Deadpool, but I don't think they will keep anyone from the XMen cast.

HannibalLecter - 7/4/2018, 7:12 AM
@Menks123 - Me too, I would be fine with them keeping Fassbender and McAvoy but still rebooting but it's unlikely.

And tbh Fassbender's Magneto and Brolin's Thanos are my two favorite villains in CBM history to date.

We all want at least McAvoy and Fassbender in the MCU! :)

@Doomsday8888 - One person I want to see enter the MCU is Christian Bale as Wolverine. I thought about it earlier and I don't think I've ever seen his name come up with the character before.

RolandD - 7/4/2018, 8:36 PM
@Menks123 - Maybe but I could watch scenes of him as Gandalf from the LOTR all day. I admit that I was never thrilled with his Magneto though Check him out as Macbeth with Judi Densch as Lady Macbeth. A certain Sith Emperor has a part as well. Done in the ‘70’s, you can watch the whole thing on YouTube. Acting tour de force.
