20th Century Fox's X-Men: Dark Phoenix recently commenced reshoots in Montreal, and thanks to the Universo X-Men Twitter page we have our first glimpse of some cast members filming a scene. Mild SPOILERS ahead.

As you can see, the sequence being shot features Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Jessica Chastain's mysterious villain locked in combat, with the latter seemingly gaining the upper hand. Both actresses are wearing mo-cap suits, which obviously suggests that some CGI enhancements will be added in post.

Tye Sheridan's (Cyclops) stunt double can also be seen standing to the side in the third image.

We don't have any context for the scene, but the fact that Jean and the film's main villain are facing-off here could indicate that it takes place towards the end of the movie.

What do you guys think? Drop us a comment in the usual place. X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released on February 14, 2019

This and Venom and Aquaman...keeping mediocre comic book movies alive well into 2019.

I think this will be a worthy successor to Apocalypse.

@Kyos - Well, I mean it's not going to be hard to out-do that dumpster fire of a movie.

@LORDbuckethead - I meant it in the sense that a good outcome for the movie will probably be for it to also be acknowledged with nothing worse than a resounding "meh", and to compete with the Ant-Man franchise at the box office.

@Kyos - it's honestly really sad that all of us who love the xmen can say no different, and that of course we want to see an adaptation of the phoenix saga, just not this one. S

5 months away and no trailer coming anytime soon, always a good sign

@StarlordsDad - Honestly, I think the marketing on this stuff is getting shorter and shorter just to keep them from drowning each other out. I'm not sure the old rules of teasers a year in advance really applies much anymore.

@Spock0Clock - sonethinn must really be wrong with Dark Phoenix us to not have trailer tho because i feel Captain will show its cards first despite coming out about month later. You may be right about the shift in general, Aquaman trailer coming earlier this year despite pevoous DC movies being shown more than year in advance
