Disney CEO Says "It Only Makes Sense" For Kevin Feige To Integrate The X-MEN Into The MCU

During a new interview, Bob Iger confirms plans to integrate the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point, under the supervision of Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige. More past the jump...

Just in case there was still some doubt in anyone's mind, Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that The X-Men will indeed be coming home to Marvel Studios.

While speaking to THR, Iger was asked about the recent Disney/Fox merger and if fans can expect to see Marvel Studios "absorb" 20th Century Fox's Mutant heroes under the watchful eye of Kevin Feige.

"I think it only makes sense," Iger replied. "I want to be careful here because of what's been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels."

A sentiment echoed by legions of Marvel Comics fans, no doubt.

The trade then asked Iger if there was a chance we might see Deadpool joining The Avengers, and he didn't shoot down the possibility. "Kevin's got a lot of ideas," he said. "I'm not suggesting that's one of them. But who knows?"

Iger was only asked about The X-Men specifically, but it's assumed that The Fantastic Four and the rest of Fox's stable of Marvel characters will also be joining The MCU at some point. The only question is, when can we expect to see it happen?
