Does A Late Trailer Date For THE WOLVERINE Signal Trouble?

There's been growing concern over James Mangold's latest directorial effort, The Wolverine since the first trailer is premiering approximately 4 months before the films release. Is that a sign that the film is in trouble?

And for comparison:

Iron Man 3 | First Trailer: October 2012; Release Date: May 3, 2013 [7 month gap]

The Avengers | First Trailer: October 2011; Release Date: May 4, 2012 [7 month gap]

The Amazing Spider-Man | First Trailer: July 2011; Release Date: July 3, 2012 [12 month gap]

Dredd | First Trailer: June 2012; Release Date: September 12, 2012 [3 month gap]

Short answer is no. As you can see above, Fox regularly reveals the first trailer for their summer blockbuster films a scant few months before their release. This practice says nothing about the actual quality of the film as they've released both good films (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and terrible films (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and regardless of their quality, none have been a clear-cut flop. However, Fox has yet to achieve the gargantuan box-office success with their superhero franchises that Marvel (The Avengers $1.5B), Warner Bros. (The Dark Knight Rises $1.1B) or even Sony (The Amazing Spider-Man $752M) have achieved. Perhaps, it's because they wait so late to start their marketing campaign to the general movie going populace that's not checking for superhero movie news on a daily basis.

The Wolverine

Spinning out of the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, Logan (Hugh Jackman) travels to Japan where he falls for the beautiful Mariko Yashida (Tao Okamoto) to the grave displeasure of her father Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi) and her half-brother, the fearsome Silver Samurai (Will Yun Lee). But this isn't Logan's first trip to the Land of the Rising Sun or his first encounter with the Yashida clan. Based on a screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) and Mark Bomback (Live Free or Die Hard, Total Recall )and the comic book by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont.
