With the Disney/Fox merger set to be complete in a matter of months, the future of Fox's X-Men movies is very much a mystery. While we know that projects that aren't in development have been put on hold, the lack of marketing for June's Dark Phoenix is making fans wonder what's going on, while those reshoots for The New Mutants still haven't taken place.
That would explain Anya Taylor-Joy's apparent confusion during a recent interview.
As you can see in the video below, she rolls her eyes and seems to be as much in the dark as the rest of us. She did, however, note that "It's coming your way at some point. My character is sassy as f**k and mental and Russian and crazy, and I love her."
The New Mutants will more than likely end up being released on Hulu, but if the reshoots don't happen, then Disney might just decide to scrap the whole thing because there's not much to be gained from putting out a movie that's clearly bad (why else would Fox have chosen to order reshoots and add new characters?).
