Warner Bros. Pushes THE LEGO MOVIE 2 Back Almost A Full Year To Winter 2019

We have no idea why, but Warner Bros. has decided to release the sequel to their smash hit animated adventure 9 months after it was originally supposed to hit theaters on May 18, 2018...

Fans of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's awesome The Lego Movie are going to have to wait quite a bit longer than they expected to see Emmett, Wyldstyle and co. return for more adventures. According to Deadline, the highly anticipated sequel has been pushed back to February 8, 2019 - not too far off a full year from its original 2018 release date.

No reason was given for the change-up, but the studio has also set new dates for Gerard Butler's Geostorm (Oct. 20, 2017) and Ben Affleck's Live By Night (Jan. 13, 2017).

Disappointing news for sure - but The Lego Batman movie is due out next May, so at least that'll make the wait more bearable.
