Did Superman's (Henry Cavill) heroic sacrifice stopping Doomsday in Dawn of Justice open the door for a more accepting and open-minded response than what he recieved across two films?

You see I don't understand this at all as far as character development goes.

Let's forget about how Metropolis has a statue for Superman & yet it seems like everyone hates him. So the citizens don't trust Superman? That's the primary issue is it? Alright. I can understand that & think it's an interesting concept to explore.

So when the solution is for Superman to sacrifice himself so people trust him, that's a stupid ass solution. Yea his sacrifice could be seen as brave but the problem is we all know Superman will rise from the dead 3 days after BvS.

So when Superman is back, wouldn't the citizens trust him less? They saw this guy die for them and he's back from the dead meaning nothing can kill him. So we have an unkillable alien menace who is the city's protector. That makes manners even worse if you ask me.

I don't get how Superman dying & rising from the dead can be seen as character development because it's not.
