Neil Gaiman Exits Anal Director's "Black Hole"

After two years trying to adapt the graphic novel "Black Hole" for the screen, Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary have dumped the project because of perfectionist director, David Fincher...
You would have thought this movie would be fasttracked. Big name writers Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary were onboard and spent a couple years on the script, but when David Fincher took over directorship from Alexandre Aja, it may have been just one big ego too many. Looks like varying working styles have gotten in the way of art yet again.

Gaiman and Avary just weren't willing to deal with a perfectionist director, and even though things were moving smoothly, the two writers called it quits. While David Fincher is an excellent director and will only do good things for this movie, apparently his anal ways were going to require too much from the already taxed Gaiman and Avary.

Neil Gaiman commented:

"David explained his process consisted of having over ten drafts, done over and over, and Roger and I were sort of asked if we wanted to, if we were interested in doing that. And we definitely weren’t. We’ll wait and see what happens, I just hope whatever happens, it’s faithful to ‘Black Hole’
To me this is all just unfortunate. If Fincher goes that far to try and ensure a flawless product, then more power to him. Sadly, that is a hell of a lot to ask of your people, especially when his name is Neil Gaiman and happens to be one of the best and most sought-after writers on the planet!"

Black Hole is the story of 70's teens who contract an STD that turns them into monsters. As if those itchy things aren't bad enough!

Fincher has the duo's completed draft, but it is unclear if he will use it, rewrite it, or credit Gaiman and Avary if others refine the script.

Its a shame Gaiman left the project, but it I am not blaming David Fincher...this guy directed Fight Club, Se7en, and Zodiac.

Black Hole is fortunate to have a talented director, unfortunately, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell and Watchmen was not so fortunate.

Thought I’d point out in these politically correct times - it's STI nowadays (Sexually Transmitted Infection).

That aside did Neil Gaiman really refer to himself in third person? Sounds like David Fincher isn't the only one up there own "Black Hole"!

TRUE THAT!!! If that's an actual quote, mabey mister high and mighty Gayman needs a little boycott to fall from his piedestal and flat on his ass! That way mabey he'll get eaten up by all the insects he sees as the other best and most sought-after writers on the planet!"
