Hawkeye Finally Gets A Mask In More CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Concept Art
Hawkeye has never had a comic book faithful costume in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but concept artist Andy Park has revealed a design which very nearly made it into Captain America: Civil War...
Jeremy Renner being put in Hawkeye's classic purple costume was always unlikely, hence why no one was really all that surprised to see him in a pretty faithful version of the archer's suit from The Ultimates when The Avengers was released in 2012. However, when Jeph Loeb's critically panned Ultimates 3 was released, Clint Barton suddenly had a drastically different costume in that reality.
It's a look which divided the opinions of fans, but one which very nearly made it into Captain America: Civil War! It looks a lot cooler in Andy Park's artwork than it ever did in the source material, and arguably would have been a fitting look for the hero here (especially if it was explained that he was hiding his identity to protect his family). Do you wish Marvel had used this alternate design?
A scanned version of the image below did the rounds earlier this year, but as you can see, the new pieces of artwork released by Park offer up a much more detailed look at this take on the suit.
