In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

WB is holding reviews until Thursday, yet we have a Critics TV spot?

I dunno. People have a fever-rate hatred of Blake Lively since she leaked those nude photos and denied them, and I don't think many people wanted Ryan Reynolds to play Hal Jordan (Nathan Fillion was the fan favorite since that amazing fan trailer from 2 years ago). But lest we forget, Martin Campbell made two stellar James Bond films, so don't count him out just yet

HERES THE LAY DOWN:

@Otisburg
yeah and jim rome has associations with ESPN. one of the most biast stations in the world. Don't believe me, watch their 'NFL LIVE'

ha. Should be 'cowboys live'

I think Captain straps is Intruder with another account. I think he made it only to comment on GL stuff. Seems very plausible.

Can't wait for this movie. Its gonna be epic!

You can usually tell how bad a movie is if the name of the source in the commercial isn't readable. The names aren't even that visible or their for more than half a second. Big companies like this also pay off smaller unknown reviews for these kind of commercials to get shown. BIG EPIC WORDS...small names that no one recognizes = big epic fail. Trust me I studied this in college and just graduated.

This summer movie season is jam-packed with huge blockbusters, one bad review could turn away audiences who may have their eyes on the many other films coming out. Not everyone has the money to see them all, it's for this reason that I missed out on 'Super 8' and may save 'Captain America' for Blu-Ray. I'm definitely see 'Green Lantern' though, in 3-D {I'm a sucker for the experience}, this film opens the cosmic world to CBMs like never before.

I saw a terrible TV spot last night where they were all like the Green Lantern is a "BAD ASS" lol. Luckily, bad ads have no bearings on the actual film. But, damn.

ps: If you feed a troll, you are just as stupid as a troll.

Honestly, if the studio is putting an embargo on real reviews and yet putting up dicey looking "review"-filled commercials, I really have little faith in the actual quality of the film.

They might as well just let this movie slip after all the clips, interviews, and promotional material. I'm looking forward to it but I just have a terrible feeling brewing (especially after they delayed the critical release).

CBMfan001 - 6/13/2011, 7:21 PM
well we have seen many movies make these review commercials,but just one word will not be enough i guess and any movie will have some one who likes it among reviewers (even Jonah hex had)i think the overall pic is the important one

but reviews doesn't always mean its a good or a bad movie,there are plenty of movies where critics have got it wrong and the movies have been big hits among audience.x men got stellar reviews because its a good movie but the box office aint much and unfortunately may earn even lower than the first FF adjusted for inflation.so its a weird game

but i will be in line first day regardless because for nay movie as my friend told me the best reviewer is urself :)

@Xenix

but seriously, how do you know? How do i know?

Its a hunch. Maybe WB is doing this for the hell of it dude. Who knows.

bottom line is, we. dont. know.

CBMfan001 - 6/13/2011, 7:28 PM
@ Xenix - agreed usually if a studio is confident enough they do release reviews early to build buzz.paramount didn't screen GI JOE at all till actual release date so at least GL is a little better than that.

but i will watch it and judge it for myself who knows it might be a common mans movie like transformers 1
