Courtesy of ScreenRant, we now have some description of the footage shown for the upcoming Total Recall remake and the fourth Underworld installment, screened at Sony Pictures' panel at New York Comic-Con last night. Obviously a spoiler warning for those who don't like spoilers, for both descriptions contain some of 'em. For Total Recall, the same intro that was screened at San Diego Comic-Con preceded a montage of various scenes (some of which has unfinished CGI), including a cat fight between Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. A new 3D trailer for Underworld: Awakening was shown too, fleshing out the story and more of Kate Beckinsale's Selene kicking tail.

The first footage screened was a new 3D trailer for Underworld: Awakening, introduced by Len Wiseman. The trailer featured the usual scenes of Kate Beckinsale as Selene, kicking ass and taking names; there was a bit of the gimmicky “Fly at the screen” 3D moments, but on the whole, the film looked like a return to the solid offerings of the first Underworld. The new trailer also fleshed out the story, which involves Selene waking from cryo-sleep over a decade in the future, only to find that both vampires and werewolves are hunted by humans – and that she has a daughter, a powerful vamp/wolf hybrid who plays a pivotal part in the struggle for supremacy.

Up next was a sequence from the Total Recall remake (also introduced by Wiseman), which featured Colin Farrell as Douglas Quaid, the bored husband who visits a “recall” center to have false memories of adventure implanted into this mind. Things quickly go south as the recall guy (played with a wink by Harold & Kumar star John Cho) realizes that Quaid has already had his memories tampered with. Before anybody can say “WTF,” Armed troops barge in and shoot the place up – but before Quaid can even manage to piss his pants, something in his head clicks and he dispatches the entire squad single-handedly. After that, Quaid tried to find away out of the room he was trapped in, while the squad of guards use futuristic SWAT tech (such as a greneade-like object that bursts into a cluster of tiny sensors) to take Quaid down. Quaid, of course, escapes.

From there we saw a montage of footage, including unfinished scenes of the futuristic world, and a hot girl-on-girl catfight between stars Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. Yowza. There was also a great scene with Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston.

Underworld: Awakening hits theaters January 20th, 2012, while Total Recall arrives August 3rd, later that year.

The Total Recall trailer blew me away. Saying "Colin Farrell dispatched the whole team" does NOT do the scene justice at all. Try: in ONE CUT Colin Farrell brutally kills about 10 armed soldiers with nothing but his hands seemingly not knowing how he's doing anything he's doing." It was one of the most badass things I've ever seen.

The gimmicky fly at the camera shots just look retarded especially when you watch it in 2D. 3D just makes directors make lousey shots decisions they would never even consider if it was 2D.

Wish they would shelv 3D and just work on hologram movies. Thats the only way to make 3D movies. Current 3d movies are just lame Popup books if that

I'm with Grif. Sharon Stone in Total Recall was babelicious, although if Kate Beckinsale was a president she would be Baberaham Lincoln

So Brian Cranston's playing Cohagen in this reboot of Total Recall? Michael Ironside was the saving grace of the original movie,so I'll approach this with some skepticism. The new Underworld movie? IF Kate Beckinsale's naked in it..lol The plot sounds the same as the first one with the whole hybrid business.Apparently Scott Speedman's touring with Creed and is unavailable..heh,heh..Yeah,admit it he looked like Scott Stapp in that movie....

Yes! Underworld is going to rock out theatres with blood and gore once again. I loved the Underworld movies and I am definitely pumped for this particular film. I am hoping to see Michael in the film.

@xizor, I saw that scene back at SDCC and I totally agree. It was jaw-droppingly incredible. If the whole movie has action of that quality and the plot live up to its potential, this could be one of the coolest movies to come out in a long time.
