Jane Levy Lands Female Lead In THE EVIL DEAD Remake

After the news that Shiloh Fernandez has landed the male lead in the upcoming remake of the popular horror film, it's been revealed that Suburgatory actress Jane Levy has been hired to replace Lily Collins as lead character 'Mia'.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Shiloh Fernandez was cast in the lead role of the upcoming remake of The Evil Dead. Now, Deadline reports that Jane Levy - who's starred in Paramount's Fun Size, the ABC series Suburgatory and Showtime's Shameless - has been cast in the female lead in the Fede Alvarez-directed horror film. The role was previously held by Mirror Mirror's Lily Collins, who recently dropped out due to 'date issues'.

Levy's character, Mia, is essentially the female equivalent of Ash (played by Bruce Campbell in the original films, and will not feature in this new version), described as "one of five young people who head to the remote cabin where evil awaits. Recovering from a recent overdose, Mia is particularly vulnerable". Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert are producing the film.

The Evil Dead is set to hit theaters on April 12th, 2013.

@analgriff - You're amusing...but it's only a matter of time before you're kicked off this site. So here's some advice when trolling to prolong your joyride:

@headlopper That's the problem with most trolls. Too "fast and furious", then they burn out too quickly. In the fine art of trolling one must always practice caution for the sake of self preservation.

I really wish people would quit trying to be like grif.
It isn't funny.
It isn't cute.

It is ridiculous.

Yes, grif gets bashed, and all, and maybe you would like that.
But, everyone else hates it.


Onto this news...She is a pretty good actress.
She is adorable as well.
She does have similar features as Emma Stone!


I still don't want a remake though...

I'm kind of unimpressed. I haven't seen her show 'Suburgatory' - so I can't judge her skills.

I love Shiloh Fernandez, he's so beautiful and a pretty good actor. I would've liked to see him with Lily Collins :(

I don't mind Jane. She is ok.

But, Lily is MUCH better!
She is a better actress, and much prettier!

Shiloh is pretty good!
He was getting a lot of hate on here, but I just didn't comment, because I actually don't mind him.

Yeah, Jane's a very pretty girl, but she's no Lily Collins. Lily isn't that well known, but she's more known than Jane, so I'm kinda shocked.

Shiloh is sooo cute! I loved him in his Cold Case episode, he was great in 'Skateland' - a good movie!

Lily is amazing! I wish she would get more recognition, for her acting skills!
She has a great future ahead of her!

I actually liked the Red Riding Hood movie...He was very cool and mysterious in it.
So, I do like him.
And, on film he does not look girly like everyone was saying. He is a good looking guy!
