@BossWalsh Whoa... That's quite an ironic comment you got there Walsh. I understand how you feel and what you are trying to say about the ignorance; however, what you've said about "ignorance towards their own kind" - that's where it gets me. What do you mean by "their own kind"?. Do you really think Persian's were actually vile, barabaric men/creatures like what was depicted in the comic/movie? Also anyone would think of Xerxes as some creepy, irrational person at first sight in the movie, I bet even you have. Btw this matter did actually spark controversy in Iran at the time of release...look into it. So I'm not saying it is a right thing to make fun of/judge someone from appearance, however what I'm trying to say is it doesn't really matter what those guys have said/thought because firstly they are from a highly Islamic country and Islam dissaproves homosexuality, meaning they have a strong faith but just using a lot of negativity towards homosexuals - I'm a Muslim but I don't hate homosexuals and homosexulity tbh, and also those guys may have felt provoked because of how the Persians have been depicted. But I understand they shouldn't have been using homophobic remarks. Oh and more thing the Middle East is full of different countries, you've just judged them by saying "their own kind". These guys could be from Saudi Arabia or Palestine, which are two different countries but yet it gives you the right to judge them with the characters from the movie. I'm not taking a dig, I'm just saying pls think before you write something down...

How is "own kind" a factual statement? Those guys only appeared to be
middle eastern.Unless BosWalsh asked them, he had no idea if they were Turks,Persians,Arabs,Indians or Pakistanis,all of whom have communities in Britain and very different histories. BosWalsh was suggesting that he was offended by those guys not because they were talking during a movie, but due to the fact that in his eyes, they were jeering at a character that was supposed to be representing them because he appeared to them to be homosexual. When I first saw Xerxes in 300, the first thought I had was "Dennis Rodman late 90's during his drag queen phase" while I busted out laughing. Clearly Xerxes was portrayed for laughs (and to provide a contrast with the noble,brave and hetro Spartans) and not as someone to be respected as one of the great conquerors of history. Xerxes was not a leader of men in 300 but rather, a foppish cowardly giant with a Jim Jones complex. BosWalsh was big enough to state that while pointing out ignorance regarding sexual orientation he may have unknowingly displayed cultural ignorance on his own part. That's not being asinine,it's making an observation.Sorry about letting PC ( I.E. the real world) break in here, so you can go back to your comics and boobies.
