From Academy Award®--winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes "John Carter"—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). "John Carter" is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands. The screenplay was written by Andrew Stanton, Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon.

That was a great movie and it deserves a sequel.
Jolt17 - 3/31/2012, 7:08 AM

I really dug the movie. It should have done more busibess at the box office. Disney f'ed up with the marketing.
WolvieCBM - 3/31/2012, 7:28 AM
Nice! Is there an HQ version of that second image?
Morpheus82 - 3/31/2012, 7:31 AM
I haven't watched this or any other movie in the theaters this year, when is it out on Blu ray?
PaulRom - 3/31/2012, 7:31 AM
Can't find an HQ version of 'em. Hopefully larger versions will be released soon.
PaulRom - 3/31/2012, 7:31 AM
It doesn't have a release date yet, but I'm guessing it'll be released in June or July.
Seejay - 3/31/2012, 7:59 AM

It would have made more cash with a more known actor in the leading role.

Nothing against Taylor Kitch.

Just saying.

Damn, a Home Video Version already comin out? That was fast

The movie wasnt so bad, but it was just mis-managed on terms of promotion. I never saw any John Carter merchandise or deals w/ Other Consumer Products. What sucks is that it didnt get any of the above & it was a Disney Film., Disney is still marketing princesses from movies that are 20-60 years old, but not a single happy meal tie in for John Carter? Unfortunate

As movie-promoting collage art goes, that really sucks. Why are they still so fixated on those white apes? Oh, I guess so people will remember that lobby card they saw a few weeks ago.

GLprime2814 - 3/31/2012, 8:58 AM

This was 2012s Green Lantern, a lot of promise, mostly fun, but no reason to be remembered a month after the release
INSTANTJUSTICE - 3/31/2012, 9:48 AM
I await Disney's forthcoming announcement -before actual release- that they expect to lose $200 million on unsold Blu-rays.
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 3/31/2012, 9:56 AM
What they don't tell you is each copy of the Blu Ray is going to cost 1000 dollars to help make up the money lost on this film.
darque13 - 3/31/2012, 10:17 AM
I cant wait. I loved this movie....

I think what is amusing is how every critic is raggin on the movie... yet...every review a normal human being gives...loves the movie and approves for a sequel. Disney needs to just do it based on that. for the fans.
australiancomicbookmoviefan - 3/31/2012, 10:28 AM
Saw it yesterday arvo, and I liked it.

It was grandiose and epic. Gimme Blu-ray.

Had a hard time with the 3D thought, was giving me a headache.
Giraffehead - 3/31/2012, 11:54 AM
Didn't see the movie,

but this cover is terrible.
xXkryptoniteXx - 3/31/2012, 3:13 PM
I like the movie and this director should have done star wars prequel and it could have been better then what George Lucas gave us. I like John carter it's a hidden gem for this years movie but these cover scares the people from going to buy it. Horrible cover.
SpiderManofHouseStark - 3/31/2012, 5:08 PM
not like anyone is gonna buy it
Coldblood6 - 3/31/2012, 6:19 PM
Good movie. Had its faults though. Did not deserve to be an epic failure.
Theboyfromkrypton - 4/1/2012, 8:19 AM

@marvel72
I'm just glad someone else thinks THG isn't as great as everyone else makes it out to be.
