Talking with The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman discusses the studios' upcoming film projects. Among them are the fourth Transformers film, Darren Aronofsky's Biblical epic Noah, and the adaptation of the post-apocalyptic novel World War Z. Goodman reveals new tidbits about Noah, confirming the rating and budget as well as the involvement of Jennifer Connelly and Saoirse Ronan. He confirms that the story Transformers 4 will be different from the other films, and Ehren Kruger (who worked on the last two movies) is writing the script. Additionally, Goodman discusses the reasons behind pushing World War Z to summer of 2013. For updates on Top Gun 2, Mission Impossible 5 and the Jack Ryan reboot, click the link below.

On Noah Rating, Cast And Budget:
It will be a big, robust production and will have tremendous scale. It's the perfect combination of casting [Russell Crowe, Saoirse Ronan and Jennifer Connelly] and a remarkable adventure. This isn't what you think of when you think of Darren, but it will be very true to him as a filmmaker. It will be PG-13 and will likely cost around $125 million.

On The New Direction For Transformers 4:
The story is going in a different direction now. Ehren Kruger [who wrote the past two Transformers movies] is writing it for us, and we're starting to engage, but I can't say anything more.

On The Delay For World War Z:
It is an action-adventure movie with a lot of extreme ideas -- i.e., a world war with zombies -- so it felt more like a summer tentpole. One Shot, starring Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, seemed like a great Christmas opportunity, so we moved that up. We see One Shot, based on Lee Child's novels, as a potential franchise.

World War Z is set to hit theaters June 21st, 2013, while Noah and Transformers 4 are scheduled to be released March 28th and June 27th, respectively, in 2014.

So Transformers 4 is really happening? I'm sure most of you will hate it but I'm happy. I think the movies are fun and entertaining to watch.

@bmanhall
oh yeah there was never any doubt about it. the franchise was making way too much money to stop it in its tracks. im excited for more films as well.
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 4/26/2012, 8:06 AM
Wait, they're getting the guy who wrote the last two Transformer outings (two of the worst written movies with the biggest plot holes, continuity errors and all round patheticness the world has ever seen) and giving him the job of writing the next instalment? They should be shooting him! Seriously, the guy needs to find a new career because his writing sucks major donkey balls!

I thought Brad Pitt...aka the dude people always mistakenly think I am...was in World War Z???
Rothwilder - 4/26/2012, 8:17 AM

GiantNerd0720 - 4/26/2012, 8:18 AM
I'm sorry but Ehren Kruger is horrible at writing screenplays. I had no desire to see this anyway but I just can't believe people like his writing "skills".
RaleighAntrobus - 4/26/2012, 8:21 AM
The Transformers films were far from fun and entertaining; more like dull and excruciating to sit through.

@ Gusto - Nice

Transformers 4 will be Transformers meets Ninja Turtles or at least it may as well be
Gusto - 4/26/2012, 8:46 AM
Ah...I misread that.
Shut up! I'm hungover as piss here.

I loved Transformers 1 but 2 and 3 were REALLY bad not even the awesome fight sequences could save them. If they had just taken the strongest parts of Transformers (The soldiers) and based the franchise around that instead of "The Beef" it would have been much better and i hope they go in a more serious militaristic direction because that i would watch

Ohh...so very dead!!!

@supersaiyan
My thoughts exactly. And to answer your question, Transformers is what happened. Dumbing down teens one at a time.

Kruger is one of the worst writers in Hollywood today. His scripts are full of unlikable characters, plot holes, and continuity errors.

Besides, if this is a reboot of the franchise, why is Bay directing again? Isn't the whole point of doing a reboot is to tell the story with a fresh interpetation?
GSpawnie - 4/26/2012, 1:08 PM
People should really hold off on their opinions about Transformers 4 until you've SEEN the movie,it doesn't even have a FULL script yet, hold on until you've at least seen the trailer people lol
BooYah - 4/26/2012, 1:17 PM
I liked the first 2 transformers but not the third. Plus Megan Fox > Rosie
Scabsallover - 4/26/2012, 1:30 PM
Why not just get a new writer, one that will write out every human role.
nowtheresaBATman - 4/26/2012, 3:41 PM
The introductons of the Transformers in the 1st movie were the best parts of the whole trilogy.
Rockstar96 - 4/26/2012, 8:27 PM
@BooYah: Same here; hopefully T4 will be good.
pepe - 4/26/2012, 11:15 PM
