Gazillion Entertainment, a leading developer, publisher and operator of massively multiplayer online (MMO) games, has announced that the eagerly awaited free-to-play online game Marvel Heroes will be playable for the first time during Comic-Con International: San Diego at the Marvel Booth # 2329. Marvel Heroes combines the energy of action role-playing games with the breadth and immersion of the MMO genre.

As part of the San Diego Comic-Con, fans will be able to play one of four iconic Marvel characters and experience Marvel Heroes for the first time! Players will battle through the war-torn streets of Mutant Town and Fort Stryker to defeat Magneto and retrieve William Stryker from his clutches. Along the way, players will also get a taste of the extensive loot and costume options for each hero. Developers of the game will be available at the booth to guide players and answer questions during play.

Written by comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis, Marvel Heroes is inspired by some of the most popular stories in Marvel Comics history. The playable characters include Black Widow, Cable, Captain America, Colossus, Cyclops, Deadpool, Emma Frost, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Storm, The Thing, Thor, and Wolverine. More are expected to be announced in the near future. No release date for the game is currently known.

Pretty interested in this one, maybe worth a pick up, and could be more interesting than DC Universe.
blvdnoise - 7/5/2012, 2:27 PM
ehhhhhhh..
JDUKE25 - 7/5/2012, 2:30 PM
Eh....gameplay doesn't look that impressive.
Knightrider - 7/5/2012, 2:33 PM
In terms of trailers for the games, it is a no contest those ones for DC Universe online were spectacular, and although didn't show any gameplay they were great to watch.

Anyways not really a fan of these MMO type games if I am honest, so hope it does well, but for me I want a decent Superman game and/or Avengers / JL Game and titles like these are just not going to provide it.

FÜCK YEAH!!! Finally this game would be playable, I have been waiting for this for years!

If it will be playable at SDCC then perhaps we will get a beta release soon =D

I have never played a MMO, but I'm a fan of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Diablo games (more of the former) so this is a must buy for me! I mean a must have, the game is free to play LOL.

Make NOVA a playable character and I'll buy it.
twiggy3634 - 7/5/2012, 2:40 PM
its about time they make a game with Cable as a playable character
Turtlestrong - 7/5/2012, 2:45 PM
Dr. Doom is cool and all, but what about other Marvel villains. Didn't we get him in the first ultimate alliance?

How about using Mephisto or Doc Ock like in Spider-Man ends of the Earth or something?

Looks interesting though! Better than nothing!
DoomXfactor - 7/5/2012, 2:48 PM
Yeah the lines are huge to play video games at SDCC...I'll pass
DanteSparda - 7/5/2012, 2:56 PM
@twiggy3634
He appears in Marvel VS Capcom 2, as DLC in Marvel Ultimate Alliance and in other X-Men games I think.

@Spideycap
I hope Dr. Doom isn't always the main villain, I think that there will be different events in the game that changes the story and the main villain/menace, can't wait to see an event based on Ultron, Loki, Apocalypsis, Galactus, Thanos, the Kree/Skrull war, Civil War, M Day, etc.

I also remember seeing it described as an MMORPG before... did they change it?

cuz the RPG part is really the only thing that'll make or break this game
BlackCat1 - 7/5/2012, 2:59 PM
Hope Black Cat is playable. Excited to see the maps.
PaulRom - 7/5/2012, 3:01 PM
It's still an MMORPG.
MadJakHatesSpinoffs - 7/5/2012, 3:05 PM
I just want to see a really good Marvel fighting game. No Capcom, no Street Fighter, no VS anyone else. Just Marvel vs Marvel. After that, Marvel vs DC fighting game.
UncleJimmy - 7/5/2012, 3:13 PM
its a free game that plays like diablo. not a pricey console game. Most of you are missing the point.
jpwrye41 - 7/5/2012, 3:29 PM
I feel like if you select Thor and/or Hulk then you should be able to beat the game in about 30min.
OverlyManlyMan - 7/5/2012, 3:34 PM
DR DOOM IS BOSS!!!

Is this for PS3 or XBox 360?
manofmidgard - 7/5/2012, 3:36 PM
this will probably rock but it makes me sad too. cuz it'll probably be the final killing blow to City of Heroes, which has been my favorite for some few years now. hope i can be the vision. if not, thor is always awesomeness incarnate. and i see storm in there for eye candy. yummy.
billnye69 - 7/5/2012, 3:36 PM
I can't play MMO games, they visually look like garbage and that ruins the experience for me.
CorndogBurglar - 7/5/2012, 3:40 PM
I thought it WAS a console game. The free part means you dont pay a monthly fee to play it. Or am I missing something?
DanteSparda - 7/5/2012, 3:45 PM

@CorndogBurglar

It means you can download it for free and play it for free as long as it lives, but I think you can spend money to buy items and other things.
CorndogBurglar - 7/5/2012, 4:14 PM
Oh thanks guys. I thought it was coming to 360 originally. I love Diablo, so I hope this doesnt disappoint.
Thythoutrust - 7/5/2012, 5:15 PM
The gameplay looks very Diablo'ish.
I like it.
The cool thing about Diablo and most MMO's, and surely what makes people wanna play all the time is getting better equipment, I wonder how they'll integrate that in the game. Would be cool, if, unlike Diablo, there were ''roles'' like tanks and DPS'. I think the main problem with a game like DCUO (unlike WoW, for instance) is that your role in a group is so unclear unless you play all the time.

I'll definitely try it out.
CPBuff22 - 7/5/2012, 5:24 PM
Lets hope that in this Marvel can finally give us a good comic book MMO. I had such high hopes for DC Universe and it just failed to deliver.
Ghostt - 7/5/2012, 5:27 PM
can we create our own character? Thats the best freakin part of DC Universe!
CptShellhead - 7/5/2012, 7:50 PM
Sweeeeeeeet! And I was 2 yrs MMO clean from WOW. Relapse..... FTW
Soxfan1969 - 7/5/2012, 8:04 PM
Does anyone know the system specs for this? Just curious.
BAIKINMAN - 7/5/2012, 8:34 PM
AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddd "No".
Scabsallover - 7/5/2012, 8:47 PM
Looks like Ultimate Alliance
DioFoRio - 7/5/2012, 9:08 PM
